Fred Overton
Fred Henry Overton Jr. (November 9, 1938 – October 27, 2019) was a former head basketball coach at Murray State University and a nationwide motivational speaker. He was a former student of Charles Stanley's Luther Rice Seminary. Basketball Overton began his coaching career as an assistant at Austin Peay State University in 1963. In 1969, he moved cross country to coach at Pepperdine University. In 1971, he returned to the Ohio Valley Conference to serve as assistant to Cal Luther at Murray State University. In 1974, he was elevated to the head coaching position. Overton served as head coach for four seasons at Murray State, with his best season in 1976–77, when his team posted a 17-10 overall record and finished tied for second in the OVC with a 9-5 record. After the season, he was named OVC Co-Coach of the Year. He resigned at the end of the 1977–78 season because the he had not achieved "the winning success" he had hoped to. Crofton, Kentucky
Crofton is a home rule-class city in Christian County, Kentucky, in the United States. The population was 749 at the 2010 census. Crofton is part of the Clarksville, TN–KY Metropolitan Statistical Area. History Crofton had its start when the railroad was extended to that point. First Baptist Church of Atlanta, is a Baptist megachurch located in Dunwoody, Georgia, a northern suburb of Atlanta. It is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. Originally located in Atlanta city limits, First Baptist Atlanta moved to the suburb of Dunwoody, Georgia. Cal Luther
Calvin Charles Luther (October 23, 1927 – May 8, 2021) was an American men's college basketball coach. He was the head coach at DePauw, Murray State, Longwood, UT Martin, and Bethel College. He was also head coach of the Egyptian national team. Early life Born in Valdosta, Georgia, Luther was an All-state football and basketball player at Bay View High School in Milwaukee. He played college basketball at Valparaiso from 1949 to 1951. He spent two years as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division and was a member of Fort Benning's basketball and championship-winning football teams. Luther's coaching career began at the University of Illinois, where he spent three seasons as the freshman basketball while obtaining his master's degree.
