Fred Musobo
Fred Musobo (born 12 August 1996) is a Ugandan mountain runner. Career Musobo placed first in the 2015 World Mountain Running Championships. In 2018 Musobo represented Uganda at the World Half Marathon Championships in Valencia, Spain. Fred placed 20th in a time of 1:01:38. Kenya's Geoffrey Kamworor won the race. Fred made his marathon debut in April at the Milano Marathon, where he ran a time of 2:13:50, finishing 4th place. Musobo's next marathon was at the Seoul JoongAn Marathon, where he finished 5th in a time of 2:09:04. In 2019 Musobo ran the International Marathon, Daegu, where he placed 3rd in a new personal best time of 2:06:56. In 2019, he represented Uganda in the men's marathon at the 2019 World Athletics Championships held in Doha, Qatar. He finished in 13th place. The race was won by Ethiopia's Lelisa Desisa. Eric Kiptanui (born 19 April 1990) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who specializes in road running. In 2017, he won the San Silvestre Vallecana 10 kilometres road race in Madrid. In 2018, he took victory in the Lisbon Half Marathon in 1:00:05. He also won the Berlin Half Marathon, setting a course record of 58:42 which at the time was the fourth fastest half marathon ever. Felix Chemonges (born 10 October 1995) is an Ugandan long-distance runner. In 2018, he competed in the men's half marathon at the 2018 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships held in Valencia, Spain. He finished in 26th place. In November Felix made his marathon debut placing second in 2:11:57 at the Beirut Marathon. In 2019, Chemonges was second at the Borealis Linz Donau Marathon in Austria in a time of 2:09:19. In his next marathon at the Toronto Waterfront Marathon Chemonges made a big improvement to his personal best placing 3rd in a Ugandan National Record time of 2:05:12. In 2020, Chemonges competed in The 76th Lake Biwa Mainichi Marathon where he finished 9th in 2:10:08. Stephen Kiprotich
Stephen Kiprotich ("KIP-roh-tich", born 27 February 1989) is a Ugandan long-distance runner. He is an Olympic marathon champion, having won the gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics. Kiprotich also won a gold at the 2013 World Championships in Athletics. After Ethiopia's Gezahegne Abera, he is the second person to follow an Olympic marathon title with a world championship gold medal for the same event. Kiprotich became 2012 Olympic champion with a winning time of 2:08:01 in hot, sunny, and humid conditions. This was the first Olympic medal for Uganda since 1996, the first Olympic gold medal for the country since 1972, and the country's first-ever medal in the marathon.
