The Marcels
The Marcels were an American doo-wop group known for turning popular music songs into rock and roll. The group formed in 1959 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and signed to Colpix Records with lead Cornelius Harp, bass Fred Johnson, Gene Bricker, Ron Mundy, and Richard Knauss. The group was named after a popular hair style of the day, the marcel wave, by Fred Johnson's younger sister Priscilla. Fred Gustus Johnson
Fred Gustus Johnson (October 16, 1876 – April 30, 1951) was a Nebraska Republican politician. Born on a farm near Dorchester, Nebraska on October 16, 1876, his father was a native of Sweden. Graduated from Dorchester High School in 1893 and from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Law in 1903 and admitted to the bar in the same year. He set up practice in his home town Dorchester, also doing a little farming on the side. He moved to Oxford, Nebraska in 1909, and to Hastings, Nebraska in 1911 still practicing law. He was a delegate to the Republican State convention from 1900 to 1938. He was elected a member of the Nebraska state house of representatives from 1907 to 1909 and again from 1917 to 1919. He was a member of the state senate in 1919 to 1920. He became the 17th lieutenant governor of Nebraska from 1923 to 1925 serving under Governor Charles W. Bryan. Freddy Johnson
Freddy Johnson (March 12, 1904 – March 24, 1961) was an American jazz pianist and singer who gained popularity in the 1930s playing mostly swing style. Biography Johnson began playing professionally as Florence Mills' accompanist, and formed his own band in 1924. In 1925 he worked with Elmer Snowden, and in 1926 he worked with Billy Fowler. He briefly worked with Henri Saparo and Noble Sissle, and then he joined Sam Woodings band and traveled to Europe in June 1928. Wooding and Johnson parted ways in 1929, and Johnson returned to Paris to do solo work. While he was in Paris, he with Arthur Briggs and put together a band. Between late 1933 and 1934 Johnson worked with Freddy Taylor's band, and then in February 1934 Johnson left Paris to work in Belgium and The Netherlands. Freddie Johnson
Fredrick Johnson (born 1878) was an English footballer who played in the Football League for Stoke. Career Johnson joined Stoke from local side Stoke St. Peters when, at just 12 years old, he was involved in a 44–0 victory over Bucknall St. Mary's. He was a speedy winger and made his debut in the 1895–96 season where he played in nine matches scoring once. In 1897–98 Stoke struggled throughout the campaign and finished in bottom place. They entered the end of season test matches with Newcastle United and Burnley Johnson played in all four matches including the final match against Burnley where both teams went into the match knowing that a draw would see them remain in the First Division and throughout the 90 minutes not a single attempt on goal was made, this led to the introduction of automatic promotion and relegation. Minibosses is an American progressive rock band originally from Northampton, Massachusetts, and now located in Phoenix, Arizona. They are known for their video game music covers, which are instrumental rock variations of the theme music from classic Nintendo video games such as ''Mega Man'', ''Metroid'', and ''Castlevania''.
