Franz Mack
Franz Mack (7 March 1921–3 October 2010) was a German entrepreneur. He is the founder of Europa-Park. Personal life Franz Mack was born in 1921 as the fourth son of Heinrich and Theresia Mack in Waldkirch, Weimar Republic. Waldkirch
Waldkirch is a town in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, located 15 kilometers northeast of Freiburg im Breisgau. While the English translation of its name is ''Forest Church'', it is known as the "town of mechanical organs", where fairground organs played on the streets were long manufactured by such well-known firms as Carl Frei (later of Breda, Netherlands), Andreas Ruth and Son, and Wilhelm Bruder and Sons. Euro-Mir
Euro-Mir is a Space Themed spinning roller coaster located at Europa-Park in Rust, Germany. Unlike most spinning coasters, however, the cars do not spin freely, but are rotated by motors at set points during the ride. It was designed by Franz Mack and opened in 1997. The Ride Experience is modeled on the Soviet/Russian space station Mir. It consists of five cylindrical towers, with the ride simulating a trip into space and re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere. The largest tower, which contains the helical lift hill, is a dodecagon, across and high while the maximum drop of the ride is . The ride opened in 1997 and carries nine trains, each comprising four circular spinning cars. Riders are seated back to back in pairs, with a maximum of 16 riders per train. Eurosat - CanCan Coaster
Eurosat - CanCan Coaster is an enclosed roller coaster at Europa-Park in Rust, Germany. The ride is part of a refurbishment from the original Eurosat, which includes new track, some minor layout changes and a virtual reality experience that has its own separate station. Eurosat - CanCan Coaster opened in September of 2018. History Eurosat (1989–2017) The ride originally opened in 1989 as Eurosat in the French area of the park, and was manufactured by Mack Rides. The ride is situated inside a 45-metre (148 ft) high geodesic dome, a notable landmark in the park. It is themed to spaceflight. Riders queue for the attraction in a covered waiting area at the front of the dome, before ascending up escalators to the station area.
