Frantzdy Pierrot
Frantzdy Pierrot (born 29 March 1995) is a Haitian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Israeli Premier League club Maccabi Haifa and the Haiti national team. Club career College and amateur Pierrot played two years of college soccer at Northeastern University between 2014 and 2015, before transferring to Coastal Carolina University in 2016, where he played for another two years. Pierrot also appeared for USL PDL side Reading United in 2016 and 2017. Professional On 19 January 2018, Pierrot was selected with the 27th overall pick of the 2018 MLS SuperDraft by Colorado Rapids. However, he did not sign with the club. On 27 July 2018, Pierrot signed a four-year contract with Belgian First Division A side Mouscron. One year later, he joined French Ligue 2 club Guingamp. The 2018 MLS SuperDraft was the nineteenth SuperDraft conducted by Major League Soccer. As customary, the SuperDraft was held in conjunction with the annual United Soccer Coaches convention. The 2020–21 Ligue 2 season, also known as Ligue 2 BKT for sponsorship reasons, was the 82nd season of second-division football in France, and the 19th season since the division was rebranded as Ligue 2 from Division 2. Due to the uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the announcement of the start and end dates for the season was delayed. 2019–20 Ligue 2
The 2019–20 Ligue 2 (referred to as the Domino's Ligue 2 for sponsorship reasons) season was the 81st season since its establishment. The season was suspended indefinitely on 12 March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 28 April 2020, the French Prime Minister Édouard Philippe announced that there would be no sporting events, even behind closed doors, before September 2020, thus in effect ending the season. On 30 April 2020, the LFP declared Lorient as champions of Ligue 2, and that the top two clubs would be promoted to Ligue 1, meaning Lens were promoted as well. The decision on relegations was deferred to the general assembly of the FFF on 20 May 2020. On 27 May 2020, the executive committee of the FFF rejected a proposal by the LFP to have 22 clubs in the 2020–21 competition, which would have seen Orléans and Le Mans remain in the competition. The 2019–20 Belgian First Division A (officially known as Jupiler Pro League) was the 117th season of top-tier football in Belgium. On 2 April 2020, the Jupiler Pro League's board of directors agreed to propose to cancel the season early during the COVID-19 pandemic. Should this proposal be accepted, Club Brugge will be awarded the title. In the meantime UEFA has threatened to ban teams in Europe in case their respective leagues were terminated early without trying to have all remaining matches completed. The decision of whether to accept this proposal was initially meant to be decided by a vote at a meeting on 15 April 2020, but had been postponed three times.
