Frank Bakke-Jensen
Frank Bakke-Jensen (born 8 March 1965 in Båtsfjord) is a Norwegian politician for the Conservative Party. He served as minister of defence from 2017 to 2021, and minister of European affairs from 2016 to 2017. He was mayor of Båtsfjord Municipality from 2007 until his election to the Storting from Finnmark in 2009. Bakke-Jensen formerly worked as a ship's electrician between Hammerfest and Tromsø, and has also worked as a teacher and self-employed pilot at Båtsfjord Airport. He has also performed military service in the UN Lebanon conflict. Career Mayor of Båtsfjord Bakke-Jensen was elected mayor of Båtsfjord Municipality in 2007, despite the Labour Party winning 54.7 percent of the vote, and nine of the fifteen representatives in the municipality. Country-wide local elections for seats in municipality and county councils were held throughout Norway on 10 September 2007, with some areas polling on 9 September as well. Båtsfjord Airport
Båtsfjord Airport (, ) is a regional airport serving Båtsfjord Municipality in Finnmark county, Norway. It consists of a runway and served 14,485 passengers in 2016. A further 14,663 landed and started at the airport without leaving the aircraft. Scheduled services are provided by Widerøe using the Bombardier Dash 8, Dash 8 to Kirkenes, Hammerfest and other communities in Finnmark. The airport is owned and operated by the state-owned Avinor. It is the second airport in Båtsfjord. Båtsfjord Airport (1973–1999), The first was built in 1973, but only had a gravel runway.
