Franco Del Prete
Franco Del Prete (5 November 1943 – 13 February 2020) was an Italian drummer and lyricist. Biography Born in Frattamaggiore, Del Prete was one of the founders of the groups The Showmen, Napoli Centrale, and Sud Express. He also worked as a lyricist for Lucio Dalla, Peppino di Capri, James Senese, Eduardo De Crescenzo, Tullio De Piscopo, Enzo Avitabile and Sal da Vinci. Tullio De Piscopo
Tullio De Piscopo (born 24 February 1946 in Naples, Italy) is an Italian drummer, percussionist and singer- songwriter. De Piscopo was born in Naples. His father was an orchestra percussionist. In 1969 he moved to Turin and two years later he moved to Milan, where he joined the Franco Cerri quintet. He later began a successful career as session drummer, playing with many international artists, including Gerry Mulligan, Chet Baker, Stéphane Grappelli, Massimo Urbani, Gil Evans, Slide Hampton, Don Costa, Tony Scott, Ástor Piazzolla, Aldemaro Romero, Gato Barbieri, Eumir Deodato, Mina, Lucio Dalla, Franco Battiato, Fabrizio De André, Pino Daniele, Manu Chao and others. Between the 1970s and 1980s, De Piscopo played on several occasions with bassist-arranger Pino Presti, with whom he established one of the top rhythm sessions in the Italian music scene. Enzo Gragnianiello
Enzo Gragnaniello (born 20 October 1954) is an Italian singer-songwriter and composer. Life and career Born in Quartieri Spagnoli, Naples, Gragnaniello began playing the guitar at the age of 12 and began composing his first songs at 18 years old. In 1977 he formed the group "Banchi nuovi", named after the Committee of unemployed people to which he belonged. Gragnaniello made his solo debut in 1983, with the eponymous album ''Enzo Gragnaniello''. In 1986 he received his first Targa Tenco, an award he won again in 1990 and 1999 and in 2020. In 1991 his song "Cu'mmè", recorded by Roberto Murolo and Mia Martini, obtained a great commercial success and became instant classics in Italy; in 1997 with the same song Gragnaniello won the music festival "Viva Napoli". Gino Paoli
Gino Paoli (; born 23 September 1934 in Monfalcone) is an Italian singer-songwriter. He is a seminal figure who has written a number of songs widely regarded as classics in Italian popular music, including: " Il cielo in una stanza", "Che cosa c'è", " Senza fine", "Quattro amici al bar" and "Sapore di sale". Biography Paoli was born in Monfalcone, a little town near Trieste, but moved to Genoa at a young age. After several different jobs, he was signed to Ricordi with friends and fellow musicians Luigi Tenco and Bruno Lauzi. His first success was the single "La Gatta", which has been used in Italian language teaching classes in American middle schools and high schools. "Il cielo in una stanza" was composed in 1959. Vincenzo "Enzo" Avitabile (born 1 March 1955) is an Italian saxophonist, composer and singer-songwriter. He plays a fusion of world music and jazz fusion music, rooted in Neapolitan traditions and characteristic dialect. Eduardo De Crescenzo (born 8 February 1951) is an Italian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, best known for the songs "Ancora" and "E la musica va". Background Born in Naples, De Crescenzo approached music at very young age, as he began playing the accordion at 3 and made his first public exhibition at 5, in Teatro Argentina, Rome. At 16 he founded a beat group, "''Eduardino e i Casanova''", with which he recorded the first 45rpm in 1967, "Hai detto no!".
