Francisco Osorto
Francisco "Pancho" Salvador Osorto Guardado (20 March 1957 – 26 February 2023) was a Salvadoran footballer who played as a defender. Club career Osorto won the Nacional Liga B league title in 1983 with his hometown club Municipal Limeño. International career Nicknamed ''Pancho'', Osorto represented his country in five FIFA World Cup qualification matches and played at the 1982 FIFA World Cup in Spain. In 1977, he scored for El Salvador in an 8–0 drubbing of Nicaragua in qualification for the 1978 Central American and Caribbean Games. Personal life and death Osorto was married to Evelyn Rubio and the couple have four sons. His son Heraldo Salvador Osorto was a professional footballer with Atlético Marte and San Salvador. Osorto died from liver failure on 26 February 2023, at the age of 65. Santa Rosa De Lima, La Unión
Santa Rosa de Lima is a municipality in La Unión Department of El Salvador. The city is named after St. Rose of Lima, born on 1586 in Lima (Peru). Its "fiestas patronales" are during the month of August, when the city gets full of vendors from around the country selling a wide range of articles and food. Economy The city is also known as the "capital of commerce" in La Unión and is famous for its cheese, gold and livestock trade. And they have a big commerce of cows, pigs and clothing. Santa Rosa de Lima is a city which is the heart of commerce. The city has many fast food places and traditional also like the famous pupusas. The city is located a few kilometers from the Honduras border. During the Honduras/El Salvador war in the late 60's, the city got hundreds of expatriated Salvadorans from Honduras. The Primera División de Fútbol Profesional de El Salvador (First Division of Professional Football of El Salvador), more commonly known as La Liga Mayor or La Primera, also known as Liga Pepsi for sponsorship reasons, is the top professional association football, football league in El Salvador. It was established in 1947, and in 2011 had 10 clubs. Initially the league was run as a year-long tournament, but since 1998 there are two tournaments each year, much like in many other football leagues in the Americas. Central American And Caribbean Games
The Central American and Caribbean Games (CAC or CACGs) are a multi-sport regional championship event, held quadrennial (once every four years), typically in the middle (even) year between Summer Olympics. The games are for 32 countries and five territories in Central America, the Caribbean ( Caribbean Countries), Mexico, and the South American Caribbean countries of Colombia, Guyana, Suriname, and Venezuela. The games are overseen by Centro Caribe Sports (''formerly CACSO''). Military Dictatorship In El Salvador
The Salvadoran military dictatorship was the period of time in Salvadoran history where the Salvadoran Armed Forces governed the country for almost 48 years from 2 December 1931 until 15 October 1979. The authoritarian military dictatorship limited political rights throughout the country and maintained its governance through rigged elections. The military came to power in El Salvador when the first democratically elected president, Arturo Araujo, was overthrown in a military coup d'état on 2 December 1931. The military appointed Araujo's vice president, General Maximiliano Hernández Martínez, as acting president on 4 December 1931. He remained in office until he was forced to resign on 9 May 1944 following strikes and protests by students in the capital of San Salvador.
