Francisco Nieva
Francisco Morales Nieva (29 December 1924 – 10 November 2016) was a Spanish playwright. Born in Valdepeñas, he moved to Madrid at an early age to train at the San Fernando Royal Academy of Fine Arts. He was a member of the avant-garde literary movement called Postismo. Between 1948 and 1963, he lived in Paris where his acquaintances included modernists such as Ionesco and Beckett. His first published work ''Es bueno no tener cabeza'' appeared in 1971. A past winner of the Asturias Award, he was considered to be a leading candidate for the Cervantes Prize. Asturias Award
The Princess of Asturias Awards (, ), formerly the Prince of Asturias Awards from 1981 to 2014 (), are a series of annual prizes awarded in Spain by the Princess of Asturias Foundation (previously the Prince of Asturias Foundation) to individuals, entities or organizations from around the world who make notable achievements in the sciences, humanities, and public affairs. The awards are presented every October in a solemn ceremony at in Oviedo, the capital of the Asturias, Principality of Asturias, and are presented by the Princess of Asturias. Each recipient present at the ceremony receives a diploma, a sculpture expressly created for the awards by Spanish sculptor Joan Miró and a Award pin, pin with the emblem of the Foundation. The Most Excellent
The Most Excellent ( (male) or (female), literally "Most Excellent Lord/Lady") is an honorific prefix that is traditionally applied to certain people in Spain and certain Spanish-speaking countries. Following Spanish tradition, it is an '' ex officio'' style (the holder has it as long as they remain in office, in the most important positions of state) and is used in written documents and very formal occasions. The prefix is similar (but not equal) to that of " His/Her Excellency", but in the 19th century "The Most Excellent" began to replace the former. The Miguel de Cervantes Prize () is awarded annually to honour the lifetime achievement of an outstanding writer in the Spanish language. The ''Encyclopædia Britannica'' calls it "most prestigious and remunerative award given for Spanish-language literature". History The prize was established in 1975 by the Ministry of Culture of Spain and first awarded the following year. The winner receives a monetary award of 125,000 euros, which makes it one of the richest literary prizes in the world. The prize rewards authors from any Spanish-speaking nation and recognizes the recipient's overall body of work.
