In the sport of association football, a defender is an outfield position whose primary role is to stop attacks during the game and prevent the opposition from scoring. Centre-backs are usually positioned in pairs, with one full-back on either side to their left and right, but can be played in threes with or without full-backs. Clubul Atletic Timișoara was a football club based in Timișoara, western Romania. It was founded in 1902 and dissolved in 1936. History In the Józsefváros neighborhood of Temesvár, Kingdom of Hungary, Austria-Hungary, on April 26 1902, as a result of initiative of a group of young people led by dr. Péter Dobroszláv, in one of the halls of the City Report House, Elite Palace (the building of the current restaurant Sinaia), Temesvár Football Club (TFC) was established. The chosen colors were white and green. The club had 30 members, and was run by president dr. Adalbert Meskó, vice-president Rudolf Trinksz and Viktor Kovács. The Romania national football team ( ro, Echipa națională de fotbal a României) represents Romania in international men's football competition and is administered by the Romanian Football Federation ( ro, Federația Română de Fotbal), also known as FRF. They are colloquially known as ''Tricolorii'' (The Tricolours). Romania is one of only four national teams from Europe—the other three being Belgium, France, and Yugoslavia—that took part in the inaugural FIFA World Cup in 1930.
