Francesco Bissolo
Francesco Bissolo (1470-72 - 20 April 1554) was a Venetian painter of the Renaissance. He is also known as Pier Francesco Bissolo. ''Santa Giustina'' in Treviso Cathedral He is described as a pupil of Giovanni Bellini. He painted a ''Christ exchanging crown of thorns for crown of gold with St. Catherine'' for the church of il Redentore, now at the Gallerie dell'Accademia in Venice, and a ''Santa Giustina'' in Treviso cathedral. The Gallerie dell'Accademia is a museum gallery of pre-19th-century art in Venice, northern Italy. It is housed in the Scuola della Carità on the south bank of the Grand Canal, within the sestiere of Dorsoduro. It was originally the gallery of the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia, the art academy of Venice, from which it became independent in 1879, and for which the Ponte dell'Accademia and the Accademia boat landing station for the '' vaporetto'' water bus are named. The Dayton Art Institute (DAI) is a museum of fine arts in Dayton, Ohio, United States. The Dayton Art Institute has been rated one of the top 10 best art museums in the United States for children.
