Frances Westley
Frances Westley is a Canadian academic. She is the J.W. McConnell professor of social innovation at the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario. She was previously the James McGill professor of strategy at McGill University, and, from 2005 to 2007, director of the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She chairs the board of the Stockholm Resilience Centre at Stockholm University, and is on the board of Engineers Without Borders Canada. Stockholm Resilience Centre
Stockholm Resilience Centre (SRC), explores how people and nature can live and develop on a planet under pressure. The centre is a collaboration between Stockholm University and the Beijer Institute of Ecological Economics at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. The centre states that its mission is to: * advance the scientific understanding of the complex, dynamic interactions of people and nature in the Biosphere * train the next generation of sustainability researchers and leaders * engage in collaborations with change agents Stockholm Resilience Centre has a particular focus on Socio-ecological system, social-ecological resilience, where humans and nature are studied as an integrated whole.
