Fran Alonso
Francisco Javier "Fran" Alonso Lopez (born 13 June 1976) is a Spanish football manager who manages the Houston Dash of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). Career In 2018, Alonso was appointed manager of English side Lewes. In 2020, he was appointed manager of Scottish woman's side Celtic. On 22 December 2023, Alonso was appointed manager for National Women's Soccer League side Houston Dash, who have reached its postseason competition only once in its ten years of existence. The Houston Dash is a professional Women's association football, women's soccer team based in Houston, Texas. It joined the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) in the 2014 National Women's Soccer League season, 2014 season, and is affiliated with the MLS team Houston Dynamo, Houston Dynamo FC. History Establishment On November 19, 2013, the Houston Dynamo began talks in the initial stages with the intention of bringing a top flight women's professional soccer franchise to Houston. Just a week later, the effort was bolstered when the Dynamo began accepting refundable deposits for a potential NWSL expansion team. Lewes () is the county town of East Sussex, England. It is the police and judicial centre for all of Sussex and is home to Sussex Police, East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service, Lewes Crown Court and HMP Lewes.
