Frederick Fraley
Frederick Fraley (May 28, 1804September 23, 1901) was an American businessman, politician, and civic leader from Pennsylvania. He was involved in several successful businesses and served on the Philadelphia City Council and as a member of the Pennsylvania State Senate. He was one of the founders of the Franklin Institute and one of the first directors of Girard College in Philadelphia. Early life Fraley was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to John Urban and Ann Elizabeth Laskey Fraley. He was educated at St. John's College, a school at Fourth and Race Street in Philadelphia. He studied law but never applied for the bar. He entered the wholesale hardware business at the age of 16. Gerry Fraley
Albert Gerard Fraley (December 25, 1954 – May 25, 2019) was an American sportswriter. Career Fraley was from Clearwater, Florida, and attended Clearwater High School and Carnegie Mellon University. Fraley played college football as a nose tackle for the Carnegie Mellon Tartans while majoring in engineering. He switched his major to journalism during his senior year and quit playing football. After graduating, Fraley returned to Clearwater and worked for '' The Clearwater Sun'' from 1979 to 1981 and ''The Atlanta Journal-Constitution'' from 1982 to 1989, where he began to focus on baseball. Fraley worked for ''The Dallas Morning News'' from 1989 to 2006, and for ''The Sporting News'' from 2007 to 2009, when he went back to ''The Dallas Morning News''. Henry Franklin Fraley Jr. (born September 21, 1977) is an American football coach and former center who is the offensive line coach and run game coordinator for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as an assistant offensive line coach for the Lions and Minnesota Vikings. Originally from Gaithersburg, Maryland, Fraley played college football at Robert Morris University and was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2000 by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Waived before the start of the 2000 season, Fraley was claimed off waivers by the Philadelphia Eagles, for whom he started at center for five seasons. Jake Arnold Fraley (born May 25, 1995) is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played for the Seattle Mariners. Amateur career Fraley attended Caravel Academy in Bear, Delaware, where he played for their baseball team. He batted .536 as a junior and .492 as a senior, and in his senior year was named to Louisville Slugger's All-American first team and the All-State first team. Fraley enrolled at Louisiana State University (LSU) to play college baseball for the LSU Tigers. He batted .372 as a freshman in 2014, and was named a Freshman All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. Disappearance Of Jamie Fraley
In the early hours of April 8, 2008, Jamie Fraley (born March 5, 1986), of Gastonia, North Carolina, United States, told a friend over the phone that she was going to the hospital for the third time in the last 24 hours due to a stomach flu. When asked who was taking her there, Fraley said it was another friend and declined to further identify that person. She has not been seen since; her cellphone was found a few days later but provided no useful information as to her whereabouts. Investigators initially believed she had met with foul play, and began focusing on Ricky Simonds Sr., her fiancé's father, who lived in the same apartment complex, as a person of interest. He had driven Fraley to the hospital on one of her previous visits that day, and had a criminal record that included prison time for manslaughter after he had strangled a girlfriend in the 1980s. Oscar Fraley
Oscar Fraley (August 2, 1914 – January 6, 1994) was an American sports writer and author, perhaps best known, with Eliot Ness, as the co-author of the American memoir ''The Untouchables''. Early life Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Fraley grew up across the Delaware River in Woodbury, New Jersey. He graduated from Woodbury Junior-Senior High School in 1934, and was inducted into the school's hall of fame in 2010. Career Fraley worked for United Press International (UPI) as a sports reporter from 1940 to 1965. During his time at the UPI, he penned the Today's Sports Parade column which at its peak appeared in 450 newspapers nationwide. Over the course of his lifetime, Fraley penned 31 books, including ''Hoffa, The Real Story'' (Stein and Day, 1975).
