Fox League Teams
''League Teams'' (formerly known as AFL Teams) was a weekly Australian sports television series based on the Australian Football League (AFL) that airs on Fox Footy. It was shown on Thursdays at 6:30pm, to coincide with that round's team announcements. Hosted by Dermott Brereton, it also featured members of the Fox Footy's commentary team every week during the AFL season. A predecessor show with the same name and same general format was screened by HSV-7 in Melbourne in the 1960s and 1970s. It featured a panel of three well known former players, Lou Richards, Jack Dyer and Bob Davis. It was shown late on Thursday nights during the football season. History The show was launched on the original iteration of Fox Footy Channel in 2002, and was hosted by Jason Dunstall. Australian Football League
The Australian Football League (AFL) is the pre-eminent professional sports, professional competition of Australian rules football. It was originally named the Victorian Football League (VFL) and was founded in 1896 as a breakaway competition from the Victorian Football League#Victorian Football Association, Victorian Football Association (VFA), with its 1897 VFL season, inaugural season in 1897. It changed its name to Australian Football League in 1990 after expanding its competition to other Australian states in the 1980s. The AFL publishes its ''Laws of Australian football'', which are used, with variations, by other Australian rules football organisations. Brad Johnson (Australian Footballer)
Brad Johnson (born 18 July 1976) is a former Australian rules footballer who was the captain of Australian Football League team Western Bulldogs. Despite his small size for his position, he was considered to be one of the best forwards in the game because of his overhead marking ability, and he also had the ability to play across half forward or in the midfield. Fox Footy Original Programming
Foxes are small-to-medium-sized omnivorous mammals belonging to several genera of the family Canidae. Fox Sports is the brand name for a number of sports channels, broadcast divisions, programming, and other media around the world. Liam Pickering
Liam Michael Pickering (born 9 September 1968) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the North Melbourne Football Club and the Geelong Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). His father, Michael Pickering, also played for North Melbourne. Sporting career He played 22 games with North Melbourne from 1989–1992, and 102 games with Geelong from 1993–1999, before his retirement from AFL football. Cameron Mooney
Cameron Mooney (born 26 September 1979) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with the North Melbourne and Geelong Football Clubs in the Australian Football League (AFL). A forward, standing at 197 cm (6 ft 6 in) Mooney is renowned for his passion along with his poor tribunal history where he holds the record for the most suspensions in a single season by a VFL/AFL player. Mooney was selected in the 2007 All-Australian Team, and was part of Geelong's AFL premiership-winning team in the same year. David Parkin
David Alexander Parkin (born 12 September 1942) is a former Australian rules footballer and coach who played for the Hawthorn Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL) and for the Subiaco Football Club in the Western Australian National Football League (WANFL). However, Parkin's stature in the history of Australian rules football is based mainly on his achievements as a coach. Building on his experience as a player and educator, Parkin won four premierships (one at Hawthorn, three at Carlton) and is considered one of the most influential coaches of the modern era. Barry Hall
Barry Andrew Hall (born 8 February 1977) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the St Kilda Football Club, Sydney Swans and Western Bulldogs in the Australian Football League (AFL). He is considered to be one of the best forwards of the modern era, being named All Australian, leading his club's goalkicking on eleven occasions and captaining the Sydney Swans to their 2005 AFL Grand Final victory. Tony Shaw (Australian Rules Footballer)
Anthony Shaw (born 23 July 1960) is a former Australian rules footballer, coach and media personality who played for the Collingwood Football Club. Playing career Collingwood Football Club Shaw was recruited to Collingwood from Reservoir-Lakeside to make his debut in 1977 alongside brother Ray. He was a small midfielder at 170 cm who didn't have the natural ability or quality skills of others but his courage and determination made him a fine rover. He did struggle in his early years to cement a senior position in the team. Shaw played in the 1980–1981 losing Grand Final sides.
