Fox Filipino
Fox Filipino was a Philippine pay television channel focused on Philippine-produced programming from GMA Network, TV5 and Sari-Sari Channel as well as Filipino movies from GMA Pictures, entries from the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival, selected Asian and Hollywood movies, and selected foreign programming dubbed in Tagalog language. After 8 years of broadcasting, Fox Networks Group announced that Fox Filipino would cease broadcast on July 7, 2020, as GMA and TV5 archived content were moved to its digital television channel, Heart of Asia and Cignal-run satellite network, One Screen, respectively. Fox Filipino's channel space were later replaced by ABS-CBN/Creative Programs, Inc.-owned Jeepney TV on other cable and satellite platforms, including Cignal. The Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival is a film festival in the Philippines held annually during the month August at the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex and various cinemas. Its aim is the development and promotion of Filipino independent films. The film festival is organized by the Cinemalaya Foundation, Inc. with the support of the Cultural Center of the Philippines and Econolink Investments, Inc. Each year, the Festival provides "seed investments" of ₱500,000 (US$10,000~) to ten independent filmmakers. It has since been increased to ₱1,000,000 (US$20,000~) since 2019. GMA Pictures, formerly Cinemax Studios and GMA Films, is a film and television production company in the Philippines, established by GMA Network in 1995. Sari-Sari Channel is a 24-hour general entertainment channel under a joint-venture between Cignal TV and Viva Communications. Named after the Philippine Sari-sari store, it offers a smorgasbord of shows from the portfolios of Viva TV and TV5. The channel's content include archive shows and movies from Viva Television and Viva Films, original movies from Studio5, the film production arm of TV5 Network and in-house original productions in partnership of the latter's talents.
