Fuad I Of Egypt
Fuad I ( ''Fu’ād al-Awwal''; 26 March 1868 – 28 April 1936) was the Sultan and later King of Egypt and the Sudan. The ninth ruler of Egypt and Sudan from the Muhammad Ali dynasty, he became Sultan in 1917, succeeding his elder brother Hussein Kamel. He replaced the title of Sultan with King when the United Kingdom unilaterally declared Egyptian independence in 1922. Early life Fuad was born in Giza Palace in Cairo, the fifth issue of Isma'il Pasha. He spent his childhood with his exiled father in Naples. He got his education from the military academy in Turin, Italy. His mother was Ferial Qadin. Prior to becoming sultan, Fuad had played a major role in the establishment of Egyptian University (now called Cairo University). Fuad II (, full name: Ahmed Fuad bin Farouk bin Ahmed Fuad bin Ismail bin Ibrahim bin Muhammad Ali; born 16 January 1952), or alternatively Ahmed Fuad II (), is a member of the Egyptian Muhammad Ali dynasty. As an infant, he formally reigned as the last King of Egypt and the Sudan from July 1952 to June 1953, when he was deposed. Birth and reign The son of King Farouk and his second wife Queen Narriman, Crown Prince Ahmed Fuad was born on 16 January 1952 in Abdeen Palace. He was delivered at 8:30a.m. and named after his grandfather Fuad I. Fuad had three half-sisters from Farouk's previous marriage with Queen Farida: princesses Farial, Fawzia and Fadia. Hala Ahmed Fouad (; 26 March 1958 – 10 May 1993) was an Egyptian film and television actress who predominantly worked in Egyptian cinema. She appeared in more than fifteen feature films notably ''El-Millionaira El-Hafya'' (1987) and ''Al Sadah Al Rejal'' (1987). Biography She graduated from the faculty of Commerce in 1979. She worked in films in the 1980s having the chance to act alongside movie star Salah Zulfikar. Her father Ahmed Fouad was a filmmaker. She married veteran actor Ahmed Zaki in 1980. Her first son Haitham Ahmed Zaki was also a film actor who died on 7 November 2019. Later on, she married Ezzeddine Barakat and had another son, Rami. Hala died on 10 May 1993, also at the age of 35 after battling with breast cancer. Moharam Fouad (; 24 June 1934 – 27 June 2002), was an Egyptian singer and actor. Biography Fouad was born on 24 June 1934 in Cairo, Egypt. He had four brothers and four sisters. Fouad's introduction to the screen came in 1959 with the film ''Hassan and Nayima'', a legendary Egyptian love story with Soad Hosny. "Moharam had a unique character, a special flavor and fought his way in the singing career without copying other celebrities singers of his time," said Tarek Shinawy, a renowned movie critic. Throughout his lifetime, Fouad sang well over 900 songs, 20 of them in praise of Palestine. One of his more well-known songs, "Rimsh Enoh" (His Eye Lashes), earned him fans from around the world. Nagwa Fouad (; born Awatef Mohamed Agami () on 17 January 1939) is an Egyptian belly dancer and actress. She has appeared in around fifty Egyptian films. Family Nagwa was born as Awatef Mohamed Agami, in Alexandria to an Egyptian family from the Agami region. Her father was Egyptian, her mother was Palestinian from Jaffa in Mandatory Palestine, where her father met and married the mother. Only a few months after the return to Jaffa the mother died by cancer.
