''Fossil'' () is a 2023 Iranian comedy film directed by Karim Amini. Plot ''Esi Amouee'' ('' Bahram Afshari''), ''Saeed'' (''Hadi Kazemi''), and ''Safa'' (''Iman Safa''), members of the ''Black Dogs'' music group, strive for fame and success. ''Esi'' wants to perform in front of the ''Shah'', but ''Safa'' has leftist leanings and tries to gain popularity among the people by composing protest songs, but they end up in prison. ''Esi'', who is on his way to the Shah's palace, falls into a coma in an accident and wakes up 10 years later. He discovers that the ''Shah'' is gone and the Islamic Republic is in power, He also finds out that his fiancée ''Farangis'' (''Elnaz Habibi'') is married and ''Saeed'' is married to his sister... Bahram Afshari
Bahram Afshari (; born May 27, 1987) is an Iranian actor and director. He is best known for his role as Behtash Fariba in ''Capital'' (2013–present). His directorial debut film, ''Seventy Thirty'' (2024) became the highest-grossing film of all time in Iran, and he also starred in ''Fossil'' (2023), the second highest-grossing film. Afshari has received various accolades, including two Hafez Awards, in addition to nominations for two Iran Cinema Celebration Awards and an Iran's Film Critics and Writers Association Award. Fajr International Film Festival
Iran's annual Fajr International Film Festival (), or Fajr Film Festival (little: FIFF; ), has been held every February in Tehran since 1983. The festival is supervised by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. It takes place on the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution. The awards are the Iranian equivalent to the American Academy Awards. Hafez Awards (Persian: جایزه حافظ) is an annual awards ceremony which honors achievements in Iranian cinema. The awards, first presented in 1997, are presented by Picture World Magazine (Aka. Donyaye Tassvir in Persian) which is why they are also known as Donyaye Tassvir Awards. It is the only non-governmental ceremony among the cinematic festivals and awards held in Iran. Hadi Kazemi
Hadi Kazemi (; b. 1976) is an Iranian actor, narrator, sculptor, painter and photographer. He is known for his roles as '' Nezam Du Barareh'' in comedy series '' Barareh Nights'', and ''Baba Shah'' in ''Bitter Coffee'', both television series directed by Mehran Modiri. Mohammad Reza Pahlavi
