Fosscomm
FOSSCOMM (Free and Open Source Software Communities Meeting) is a Greek Academic conference, conference aiming at free-software and open-source software, open-source enthusiasts, developers, and communities. It has been hosted in various cities around Greece and its goal is to promote the use of FOSS in Greece and to bring FOSS enthusiasts together. Structure The event runs during a weekend, and includes presentations from distinguished members of Greek free and open-source communities (such as Fedora Project Greece, Ubuntu-gr, Chania LUG, etc.), as well as workshops on various free and open-source projects. Financing FOSSCOMM attendance is free, and all expenses are covered by sponsors and donations. The conference is organized and run solely by volunteers, in accordance with the non-commercial, community-centred nature of the event. Harokopio University of Athens, HUA () is a public research university based in Kallithea, Athens, Greece. Founded in 1990, the 18th state University established in Greece, as the successor of the Harokopios Higher School of Home Economics () that was established in 1929. The university has ever since expanded to further scientific areas awarding bachelor's, master's, as well as doctoral degrees. Lamia
Lamia (; ), in ancient Greek mythology, was a child-eating monster and, in later tradition, was regarded as a type of night-haunting spirit or "daimon". In the earliest myths, Lamia was a beautiful queen of ancient Libya who had an affair with Zeus and gave birth to his children. Upon learning of this, Zeus's wife Hera robbed Lamia of her children, either by kidnapping them and hiding them away, killing them outright, or forcing Lamia to kill them. The loss of her children drove Lamia insane, and she began hunting and devouring others' children. Either because of her anguish or her cannibalism, Lamia was transformed into a horrific creature.
