Ernest Lytton Leslie Forwood (3 October 1915 – 18 May 1988), known professionally as Anthony Forwood, was an English actor. Early life Ernest Lytton Leslie Forwood was born on 3 October 1915 in Weymouth, England. The Forwood family were landed gentry; Forwood's great-grandfather, Thomas Friend Brittain Peploe Forwood, resided in Thornton Manor in Cheshire and was the forefather of the Forwood Baronetcy. Sir Arthur Bower Forwood, 1st Baronet, (23 June 1836 – 27 September 1898) was an English merchant, shipowner, and politician. He was a Conservative Member of Parliament from 1885 until his death, and in 1895 he was created a baronet. Early life and business Forwood was born in Edge Hill, Liverpool, the eldest son of Thomas Brittain Forwood, a merchant, and Charlotte née Bower, the daughter of a cotton broker. William Forwood (born 21 October 1946) was an Australian politician. He was the Liberal member of the Victorian Legislative Council from 1992 to 2006, representing Templestowe Province. Forwood is now Strategic Counsel for CPR Communications and Public Relations. Origins Forwood was born in Adelaide, and began his high school education there, but graduated from the prestigious Geelong Grammar School in Victoria. He studied at the University of Melbourne, and briefly became a journalist with the Herald and Weekly Times. He quickly changed careers however, becoming a manager at a grocery company for several years. In 1975, Forwood moved to Canberra to work as a public servant. Charles Rossiter Forwood
Charles Rossiter Forwood (12 October 1827 – 2 February 1890) was an English-born Australian lawyer and Attorney General of Fiji from 1872 to 1873. Early life Forwood was born on in Tiverton, Devon, the sixth child of Capt Thomas Forwood and Mary Ann Rossiter, of Warncombe House, Newte's Hill Road, Tiverton, Devon. He enrolled at Blundell's School, Tiverton on 15 August 1835 aged 8 years and completed his studies on 14 September 1837. After leaving school he was employed in a Manchester Warehouse and in 1840 he started employment with Charles Robert Colman Esq., Ship Owner and Wharfinger in London, where he lived with his step aunt from his grandfather, Thomas Rossiter's second marriage. On 17 June 1849, at the age of 23, he married Esther De Young in Lambeth, Surrey. Gareth L. John Forwood (14 October 1945 – 16 October 2007) was a British stage, film and television actor. Forwood was born to actors Glynis Johns and Anthony Forwood. He made his screen debut in 1965 and went on to prosper as a character actor with over 40 credits in film, television and theatre. Samuel Forwood ( – October 27, 1892) was an American politician and slave owner from Alabama. He served as a member of the Alabama House of Representatives, representing Clarke County in 1839 and 1876. Early life Samuel Forwood was born to John Forwood in Harford County, Maryland. His father was a member of the Maryland House of Delegates. Career In the fall of 1830, Forwood moved to Clarke County, Alabama. He founded the plantation Gosport Retreat in Gosport in the early 1830s. The name Gosport was a reduced form of God's Port. He was a wealthy businessman and a local politician in Liverpool who raised money for the building of the Liverpool Overhead Railway and Liverpool Cathedral.
