Forward Music Group is a Canadian management company and independent record label based in Halifax, Nova Scotia and distributed nationally by FAB. Company history Founded in Fredericton, New Brunswick by James Boyle, Kyle Cunjak, and Zach Atkinson in 2006, the team initially provided professional representation for Maritime musical acts, particularly those who found it difficult or impossible to release their music through the area's conventional channels. Experimental Music
Experimental music is a general label for any music or music genre that pushes existing boundaries and genre definitions. Experimental compositional practice is defined broadly by exploratory sensibilities radically opposed to, and questioning of, institutionalized compositional, performing, and aesthetic conventions in music. Elements of experimental music include indeterminate music, in which the composer introduces the elements of chance or unpredictability with regard to either the composition or its performance. Snailhouse
Michael Feuerstack is a Canadian indie rock musician, who has been associated with the bands Wooden Stars and Snailhouse. Snailhouse was essentially a solo project with multiple contributing artists, including Julie Doiron of Eric's Trip, with production work by Jeremy Gara of The Arcade Fire. Records from Snailhouse have been released on White Whale Records, Forward Music in Canada, Lunamoth, Rhythm of Sickness, Grand Theft Autumn, Unfamiliar Records and Scratch Recordings labels. In 2012, Feuerstack announced that he was retiring the Snailhouse name, and would be releasing future music under his own name. Grand Theft Bus is a Canadian band based in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Known for short, catchy, genre jumping ditties and long meandering nonsensical improvisations with occasional magic and a touch of musical comedy. Gypsophilia
Gypsophilia was a Canadian jazz band from Nova Scotia. The band is composed of Ross Burns, Alec Frith, Nick Wilkinson (guitars), Gina Burgess (violin), Adam Fine (double bass), Matt Myer (trumpet), and Sageev Oore (piano, keyboards, accordion, melodica). Cedric Noel (born August 21, 1992) is a multi-ethnic, multinational, multi-instrumental singer-songwriter residing in Canada.
