Forward (Denmark)
Forward ( da, Fremad) was a Danish political party founded in November 2019 by Simon Emil Ammitzbøll-Bille and Christina Egelund, after they in October left the Liberal Alliance. Ammitzbøll-Bille was chairman and Egelund vice chairman and political spokesperson. Both had been leading figures in Liberal Alliance prior to the June election, that saw Egelund losing her seat in the Folketing, while Ammitzbøll-Bille was reelected. Forward characterized itself as a centrist party based on liberal values, and saw itself as the centre-right version of the Danish Social Liberal Party. The party was pro-EU, and advocated for the abolition of two of the Danish opt-outs. They supported Jakob Ellemann-Jensen, chairman of Venstre, as prime minister. Simon Emil Ammitzbøll-Bille
Simon Emil Ammitzbøll-Bille (born 20 October 1977, in Hillerød) is a former Danish politician, and a former independent member of the Parliament of Denmark. He is former Minister of Economy and Interior. He was formerly a member of Radikale Venstre and Liberal Alliance. Political career On 10 October 2008 he and a number of followers founded the party ''Borgerligt Centrum'' ( en, Civic Centre). On 13 October 2008 he left the Social Liberal Party, which he had represented in parliament since the 2005 elections. On 6 January 2009 the incorporation of Borgerligt Centrum was announced. On 16 June 2009, he announced that he had joined Liberal Alliance and dissolved Borgerligt Centrum. The dissolution was strongly contested by those members of the board who did not follow him in leaving the party. Renaissance (RE), previously known as La République En Marche ! (frequently abbreviated LREM, LaREM or REM; translated as "The Republic on the Move" or "Republic Forward"), or sometimes called simply En Marche ! Jakob Ellemann-Jensen (born 25 September 1973) is a Danish politician who has served as Deputy Prime Minister of Denmark and Minister of Defence since 2022. He has been the leader of Venstre since 2019. A member of the Folketing since the 2011 general election, he served as Minister for Environment and Food under Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen from 2 May 2018 to 27 June 2019. (section "CV"). In general, the law of the European Union is valid in all of the twenty-seven European Union member states. However, occasionally member states negotiate certain opt-outs from legislation or treaties of the European Union, meaning they do not have to participate in certain policy areas. Currently, three states have such opt-outs: Denmark ( two opt-outs), Ireland (two opt-outs) and Poland (one opt-out). The United Kingdom had four opt-outs before leaving the Union.
