Fort Utah (film)
''Fort Utah'' is a 1967 American Western (genre), Western film and the 150th feature film directed by Lesley Selander. Produced by A. C. Lyles for Paramount, it starred John Ireland (actor), John Ireland and Virginia Mayo. Plot A former gunslinger, Tom Horn, has to fight off a renegade cavalryman and his band of outlaws who are terrorising pioneer settlers and the local Indians. Lesley Selander
Lesley Selander (May 26, 1900 – December 5, 1979) was an American film director of Western (genre), Westerns and adventure film, adventure movies. His career as director, spanning 127 feature films and dozens of TV episodes, lasted from 1936 to 1968. Before that, Selander was assistant director on films such as ''The Cat and the Fiddle (film), The Cat and the Fiddle'' (1934), ''A Night at the Opera (film), A Night at the Opera'' (1935), and Fritz Lang's ''Fury (1936 film), Fury'' (1936). To this day Selander remains one of the most prolific directors of feature Westerns in cinema history, having taken the helm for 107 Westerns between his first directorial feature in 1936 and 1967. In 1956 he was nominated for the Directors Guild of America award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Television, for his work directing a 1954 episode of ''Lassie (1954 TV series), Lassie''. James Craig (actor)
James Craig (born James Henry Meador, February 4, 1912 - June 27, 1985) was an American actor. He is best known for appearances in films like '' Kitty Foyle'' (1940) and '' The Devil and Daniel Webster'' (1941), and his stint as a leading man at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in the 1940s where he appeared in films like '' The Human Comedy'' (1943). Biography He was born in Nashville, Tennessee and studied at the Rice Institute (now Rice University), planning a career in medicine. After graduation he worked for a time as a professional football player, and a debt collector. A visit to Hollywood made him decide to become an actor. He returned home and worked in theatre for a year, then went back to Hollywood. He did a screen test for Paramount, which offered him a contract. Read Lawrence Morgan (January 30, 1931 – April 20, 2022) was an American film and television actor. He was perhaps best known for playing Sergeant Hapgood Tasker in the American western television series '' The Deputy''. Life and career Morgan was born in Chicago, Illinois. He attended the University of Kentucky, where he played basketball and football. After two years there, he left to study drama at Northwestern University, then served in the United States Air Force for two years.
