The Fort McMurray Oil Barons are a Junior A ice hockey team in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL). They play in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada at the Centerfire Place. Fort McMurray ( ) is an urban service area in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo in Alberta, Canada. It is located in northeast Alberta, in the middle of the Athabasca oil sands, surrounded by boreal forest. It has played a significant role in the development of the national petroleum industry. The Prince George Spruce Kings are a junior ice hockey team based in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada. They are members of the Interior Division of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL). 2015 Western Canada Cup
The 2015 Western Canada Cup was the Western Canadian Junior A ice hockey championship played at the Casman Centre in Fort McMurray, Alberta from April 25 to May 3, 2015. It determined the two Western seeds for the 2015 Royal Bank Cup, the Canadian Junior A National Championship. The Penticton Vees and Portage Terriers finished first and second, respectively. The Melfort Mustangs are a junior "A" ice hockey team based in Melfort, Saskatchewan, Canada. They are members of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL). The Western Canada Cup (WCC); was the Junior 'A' ice hockey championship for western Canada from 2013 to 2017. The annual five-team event consisted of the host team and the champions from the four western leagues (Alberta Junior Hockey League, British Columbia Hockey League, Manitoba Junior Hockey League, and Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League), and was used to determine the two Western seeds for the national championship, known at that time as the RBC Cup. Mike Brodeur
Mike Brodeur (born March 30, 1983) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. He was selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Ottawa Senators. Playing career Brodeur had a breakout AHL campaign with the Rochester Americans in 2008–09 when he posted an 18-13-4 record with a 2.45 goals against average and .921 save percentage, all career bests. Curtis Hunt (born January 28, 1967) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who currently serves as the General Manager for the Prince Albert Raiders of the Western Hockey League (WHL). Playing career Hunt played junior hockey for the Prince Albert Raiders in the WHL, winning a Memorial Cup in 1985. He was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the 1985 NHL Entry Draft, but never played in the NHL. Hunt played in the American Hockey League for the Fredericton Express and St. John's Maple Leafs.
