''Forsebia cinis'', the forsebia moth, is a moth of the family Erebidae. It is found in North America, where it has been recorded from southern California and southern Nevada to western Texas and Oklahoma. The length of the forewings is 14–16 mm. Adults are on wing from late February to October. Achille Guenée
Achille Guenée (sometimes M.A. Guenée; 1 January 1809 – 30 December 1880) was a French lawyer and entomologist. Biography Achille Guenée was born in Chartres and died in Châteaudun. Moths are a paraphyletic group of insects that includes all members of the order Lepidoptera that are not butterflies, with moths making up the vast majority of the order. Erebidae
The Erebidae are a family of moths in the superfamily Noctuoidea. The family is among the largest families of moths by species count and contains a wide variety of well-known macromoth groups. The family includes the underwings (''Catocala''); litter moths ( Herminiinae); tiger, lichen, and wasp moths ( Arctiinae); tussock moths ( Lymantriinae), including the arctic woolly bear moth ('' Gynaephora groenlandica''); piercing moths (Calpinae and others); micronoctuoid moths ( Micronoctuini); snout moths ( Hypeninae); and zales, though many of these common names can also refer to moths outside the Erebidae (for example, crambid snout moths). ''Parkinsonia'' , also ''Cercidium'' , is a genus of flowering plants in the pea family, Fabaceae. It contains about 12 species that are native to semi- desert regions of Africa and the Americas. The name of the genus honors English apothecary and botanist John Parkinson (1567–1650). They are large shrubs or small trees growing to tall, dry season deciduous, with sparse, open, thorny crowns and green bark. The leaves are pinnate, sometimes bipinnate, with numerous small leaflets; they are only borne for a relatively short time after rains, with much of the photosynthesis carried out by the green twigs and branches.
