''Formula, Vol. 3'' is the fifth studio album by American singer Romeo Santos, released on September 1, 2022, by Sony Music Latin. It is the third installment of Santos' ''Formula'' trilogy following ''Formula, Vol. 1 (2011)'' and '' Formula, Vol. 2 (2014)''. Musically, it combines traditional bachata with innovative fusions exploring and experimenting dance, tropical house, hip hop and pop. It features several guest appearances by international stars such as Rosalía and Justin Timberlake. Also, it contains guest appearances by artists of his natal Dominican Republic such as Toño Rosario, Lápiz Conciente, Ramón Orlando, Luis Miguel del Amargue, Rubby Pérez, Fernando Villalona and Chris Lebron. The album contains 21 tracks, including 19 songs, one skit and an intro. Recorded and written between 2020 and 2022, ''Formula, Vol. 3'' received mixed to positive reviews by the critics. Romeo Santos
Anthony "Romeo" Santos (born July 21, 1981) is an American singer, songwriter, record producer and actor who is best known as the frontman and lead vocalist of the bachata group Aventura. In 2002, the song " Obsesión" reached number one in Italy for 16 consecutive weeks. He released several albums with Aventura before the group broke up. Since then, Santos has embarked on a solo career which has spawned seven number one songs on the Hot Latin Songs chart and seventeen number ones on the Tropical Songs chart. Rosalia Vila Tobella (born 25 September 1992), known mononymously as Rosalía (, ), is a Spanish singer. The ''Billboard'' Hot 100 is the music industry standard record chart in the United States for songs, published weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine. Chart rankings are based on sales (physical and digital), radio play, and online streaming in the United States. The Tropical Airplay chart (formerly known as Tropical/Salsa and Tropical Songs) is a record chart published by ''Billboard'' magazine introduced in 1994. The first number-one song on the chart was " Quien Eres Tu" by Luis Enrique. Latin Airplay is a chart published weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine in the United States. It was established on October 20, 2012. This chart lists the 50 most-played songs on Spanish-language radio stations across the country as monitored by Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems (BDS) weighted to each station's Nielsen ratings. It is based on the Hot Latin Songs chart's former methodology prior to October 20, 2012 which was revamped afterwards to rank the best-performing Spanish-language songs based on streaming, digital downloads, and airplay from all radio stations in the US. Although the Latin Airplay was launched on October 20, 2012, it retroactively includes songs that ranked on the Hot Latin Songs since the issue dated November 12, 1994, which was when the ''Billboard'' began incorporating Nielsen BDS to the Hot Latin Songs chart methodology. The ''Billboard'' Hot Latin Songs (formerly Hot Latin Tracks and Hot Latin 50) is a record chart in the United States for Latin songs, published weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine. Since October 2012, chart rankings are based on digital sales, radio airplay, and online streaming, and only predominantly Spanish language songs are allowed to rank. The chart was established by the magazine on September 6, 1986, and was originally based on airplay on Latin music radio stations. Songs on the chart were not necessarily in Spanish language, since a few songs in English and Portuguese language have also charted. Fernando Villalona, the first artist named "El Mayimbe" (born in Loma de Cabrera, Dajabón Province on May 7, 1955, Ramón Fernando Villalona Évora), is a Dominican merengue singer who began singing in the early 1970s, his popularity started to grow by the late 1970s and has not declined ever since.
