Adderley Street is a street in the Cape Town CBD, central business district (CBD) of Cape Town, South Africa. It is considered the main street of the area. The street bisects the CBD. It runs from the Parliament of South Africa at the north, past numerous office buildings and hotels, and becomes Heerengraght Street (the old main street of the CBD) at the south end, passing the Cape Town International Convention Centre, traveling under the N1 (South Africa), N1 freeway, and terminating at the Port of Cape Town. The CBD sits beneath Table Mountain, and alongside the Port of Cape Town. A curtain wall is an exterior covering of a building in which the outer walls are non-structural, instead serving to protect the interior of the building from the elements. Because the curtain wall façade carries no structural load beyond its own dead load weight, it can be made of lightweight materials. The wall transfers lateral wind loads upon it to the main building structure through connections at floors or columns of the building.
