ForeFront Records is a contemporary Christian music and Christian rock record label founded in 1987 by Dan R. Brock, Eddie DeGarmo, Dana Key, and Ron W. Griffin. It was purchased by EMI in 1996 from Dan R. Brock and Eddie DeGarmo, and is a division of Universal Music Group under Capitol Christian Music Group. In 1998, ForeFront released ''Ten: The Birthday Album'', a two-CD compilation to celebrate their 10th anniversary that featured songs from several of their artists at the time with several song remakes of older songs performed by new bands. Abandon (band)
Abandon is an American Christian rock band from San Antonio, Texas. The group had five members: brothers Josh (lead vocals) and Justin Engler (guitar), cousins Stevan (guitar) and Dave Vela (drums), and Bryan Fowler (bass). Abandon signed with ForeFront Records in late 2007, and released the ''Abandon EP'' in July 2008. Their first single, "Providence", was released to radios in August. It reached No. 7 on ''R&R'''s Christian rock charts. DeGarmo And Key
DeGarmo & Key was a Christian rock band/duo formed in 1977 by Eddie DeGarmo and Dana Key. The group is notable for having the first Christian rock album nominated for a Grammy award and the first American Christian group to have a video entered into MTVs rotation. They are also noted as being among the first groups to raise the level of technical excellence to match general market releases of the time. While the group played blues based rock with a minor British progressive rock influence, they migrated to a more pop and rock style as time went on. DeGarmo played keyboards and sang background vocals (and occasionally lead), while Key played lead guitar and did the majority of the lead vocals. Eddie DeGarmo
Eddie DeGarmo (born October 3, 1954) is an American contemporary Christian music recording artist, keyboardist, producer and singer. He became best friends with guitarist/lead vocalist Dana Key in first grade, and co-founded the Christian rock group DeGarmo and Key with him in 1978. DeGarmo played keyboards and provided vocals for the band. DeGarmo was one of the founders of Christian music label ForeFront Records. After almost twenty years performing with DeGarmo and Key, DeGarmo influenced other areas of the Christian music industry as an executive at ForeFront Records. Audio Adrenaline
Audio Adrenaline was an American Christian rock band that formed in 1986 at Kentucky Christian University in Grayson, Kentucky. The band gained recognition during the 1990s and received two Grammy Awards and multiple Dove Awards. Audio Adrenaline were regular performers at the annual Creation Festival, Spirit West Coast festival, Agape Music Festival, and Alive Festival. In 2007, the group disbanded due to lead singer Mark Stuart's spasmodic dysphonia. After a hiatus, the band reformed in 2012 with only bassist Will McGinniss returning from the original line-up. Grammatrain
Grammatrain is an American rock band from Seattle, Washington that formed in 1994. The band was active in the Christian rock industry during the 1990s. Grammatrain disbanded in 1998 and reunited in 2009. According to drummer Paul Joseph Roraback in a 1995 interview, the band's name came from a poem he wrote about his grandmother called "Grandma's Train", which was the band's original name before changing it to Grammatrain shortly after forming. Bleach is an American Christian rock band based in Nashville, Tennessee. History Bleach was formed at Kentucky Christian University in Grayson, Kentucky, in 1995, originally under the name Muffin. Holy Soldier was a Christian metal, Christian hard rock/glam metal band from Los Angeles, formed in 1985. They released three studio albums. Dana Key (December 30, 1953June 6, 2010) was an American Christian rock guitarist, singer, and producer who was co-founder of the Christian rock group DeGarmo and Key with keyboardist Eddie DeGarmo, best friends since the first grade. Key grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, meeting DeGarmo in the 1st grade. The two grew up together in the same neighborhood. Considering Lily (formerly Serene & Pearl) was an American CCM group that was popular in the late 1990s. The group was founded by Serene Campbell and Pearl Barrett, who are sisters, in the United States in 1991, though both were born in New Zealand.
