For Our Macedonia (ZNAM, ; ; ) is a political party in North Macedonia founded by former SDSM member and current Mayor of Kumanovo, Maksim Dimitrievski. Ideology Maksim Dimitrievski describes his views as socially and economically left-wing, but nationally right of centre. Dimitrievski said that the main goal of his party would be to unite citizens and return the country to the right path, "to the foundations of our statehood". The party's goal, he said, is not to be in opposition, but to win power, and the first step from this position will be the abolition of the Criminal Code, adopted under the "European flag". Dimitrievski said his movement could attract both SDSM and VMRO-DPMNE supporters, "but most of them will be undecided citizens who have not been involved in politics and have results to show for their work". Maksim Dimitrievski - Makso (; born 29 November 1975) is the incumbent mayor of Kumanovo Municipality. North Macedonia, officially the Republic of North Macedonia, is a landlocked country in Southeast Europe. 2024 North Macedonian Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in North Macedonia on 8 May 2024. The slow pace of Accession of North Macedonia to the European Union, EU integration and corruption were the main issues during the campaign. The right-wing opposition coalition led by the nationalist VMRO-DPMNE party decisively won the election receiving 45% of the vote and 58 seats which were three short of an outright majority. The incumbent center-left coalition led by the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia lost 28 seats and collapsed to 16% of the popular vote. 2024 North Macedonian Presidential Election
Presidential elections were held in North Macedonia on 24 April 2024. Incumbent Stevo Pendarovski of the ruling centre-left Social Democratic Union of Macedonia, Social Democrats ran for re-election to a second term. No candidate received a majority of votes in the first round, with right-wing challenger Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova placing first by a wide margin with 41% of the vote, while Pendarovski finished second with 20% of the vote. The two faced off in the second round run-off on 8 May, which was held alongside 2024 North Macedonian parliamentary election, parliamentary elections. In the second round, Siljanovska defeated the incumbent Pendarovski with 69% of the vote and became the first woman to be elected president of North Macedonia. She was inaugurated on 12 May. VMRO-DPMNE
The Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization – Democratic Party for Macedonian National Unity (), abbreviated as VMRO-DPMNE (), is a conservative and the main centre-right to right-wing political party in North Macedonia. It was established as a nationalist and anti-communist party. It has later rebranded itself as Christian-democratic. The party claims that their goals and objectives are to express the tradition of the Macedonian people on whose political struggle and concepts it is based. Assembly Of The Republic Of North Macedonia
The Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia is the unicameral legislature of North Macedonia. According to the Constitution, the Sobranie represents the people and is vested with legislative power. It can have between 120 and 140 MPs (currently 120), elected by proportional representation from 6 electoral districts, each contributing 20 MPs, and there are also 3 reserved seats elected from the Macedonian diaspora which are awarded only if the voter turnout was sufficient.
