Football War
The Football War (), also known as the Soccer War or the 100 Hour War, was a brief military conflict fought between El Salvador and Honduras in 1969. Existing tensions between the two countries coincided with rioting during a 1970 FIFA World Cup qualifier. The war began on 14 July 1969 when the Salvadoran military launched an attack against Honduras. The Organization of American States (OAS) negotiated a cease-fire on the night of 18 July, hence its nickname. Salvadoran troops were withdrawn in early August. The war, while brief, had major consequences for both countries and was a major factor in starting the Salvadoran Civil War a decade later. El Salvador
El Salvador, officially the Republic of El Salvador, is a country in Central America. Overtime (sports)
Overtime (OT) or extra time (ET) is an additional period of play to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. In some sports, this extra period is played only if the game is required to have a clear winner, as in single-elimination tournaments where only one team or players can advance to the next round or win the tournament and replays are not allowed. Flag Of Honduras
The flag of Honduras consists of three equal horizontal stripes of cyan, white and cyan, with five cyan stars in a Quincunx, quincuncial pattern at the centre of the middle stripe.
