Fond Du Lac County
Fond du Lac County () is a county in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 104,154. Its county seat is Fond du Lac. The county was created in the Wisconsin Territory in 1836 and later organized in 1844. Fond du Lac is French for "bottom of the lake", given so because of the county's location at the southern shore of Lake Winnebago. Fond du Lac County comprises the Fond du Lac, Wisconsin Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Holyland region is in northeastern Fond du Lac County. I-41
Interstate 41 (I-41) is a north–south Interstate Highway connecting the interchange of I-94 and U.S. Route 41 (US 41), located about south of the Wisconsin–Illinois border at the end of the Tri-State Tollway in metropolitan Chicago, to an interchange with I-43 in metropolitan Green Bay, Wisconsin. The designation travels concurrently with US 41 for its entire length, as well as portions of I-894, US 45, I-43, and sections of I-94 in Wisconsin and Illinois. The route was officially added to the Interstate Highway System on April 7, 2015, and connects Milwaukee and Green Bay with the Fox Cities. Fond Du Lac River (Wisconsin)
The Fond du Lac River is a river that flows through the city of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin into Lake Winnebago. The river starts near Rosendale, Lamartine and Eldorado, then flows around 10 miles east. The east and west branches come together in downtown Fond du Lac less than a mile before flowing into Lake Winnebago. The Supple Marsh and Lakeside Park border the river as it flows into Lake Winnebago. 2019 Flooding On March 13 and 14, the river flooded its banks in downtown Fond du Lac. The flooding was a result of ice jams under the main bridges that cross the river in the city. Evacuation efforts were put in place, as crews worked to remove the ice. Fond du Lac County Airport is a county-owned public-use airport located 1 mile (2 km) west of the central business district of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, a city in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, United States. It is included in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2025–2029, in which it is categorized as a regional general aviation facility. WIS 175
State Trunk Highway 175 (often called Highway 175, STH-175 or WIS 175) is a state highway in the US state of Wisconsin. It runs north–south in central Wisconsin from West Milwaukee to just south of Fond du Lac. The highway follows the former route of U.S. Highway 41 (US 41) before US 41's current route was created between 1953 and 1955. Portions of the highway were part of the Yellowstone Trail. North Fond du Lac created a park dedicated to the trail, which was the first transcontinental automobile highway through the upper tier of states in the United States. State Trunk Highway 67 (often called Highway 67, STH-67 or WIS 67) is a Wisconsin state highway running from the Wisconsin–Illinois state line east of Beloit north to U.S. Highway 151 (US 151) east of Chilton. With the inclusion of the new Oconomowoc bypass, WIS 67 is approximately in length. WIS 67 meanders through much of Southeastern Wisconsin, passing through both the northern and southern units of the Kettle Moraine State Forest. State Trunk Highway 44 (often called Highway 44, STH-44 or WIS 44) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It runs in a diagonal southwest–northeast direction in east-central Wisconsin from Pardeeville to Oshkosh. U.S. Highway 151 (US 151) is a United States Numbered Highway that runs through the states of Iowa and Wisconsin. The southern terminus for US 151 is at a junction with Interstate 80 (I-80) in Iowa County, Iowa, and its northern terminus is at Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
