Folktro
Modern paganism in Scandinavia is almost exclusively dominated by Heathenry (new religious movement), Germanic Heathenry, in forms and groups reviving Norse religion, Norse paganism. These are generally split into two streams characterised by a different approach to folk and folklore: Ásatrú, a movement that been associated with the most innovative and Edda-based approaches within Heathenry, and Forn Siðr, ''Forn Sed'' or ''Nordisk Sed'', a movement marked by being generally more traditionalist, ethnic religion, ethnic-focused and folklore-rooted, characterised by a worldview which its proponents call ''folketro'' ("faith of the folk", "folk religion"). Samfundet Forn Sed Sverige Altare Vid Julblot 2010-12-19
The Student Society in Trondheim (, Samfundet for short) is Norway's largest student society. Besides housing a café, a restaurant, several bars and frequently hosting concerts and other activities (among them Norway's biggest culture festival, UKA (festival), UKA), it is an independent organization for all students and teachers in Trondheim, owned fully by its members. At the end of 2011, it had around 9000 members. Many famous artists have held concerts here. Among others, Sex Pistols, Iggy Pop, N.E.R.D., Phoenix (French band), Phoenix, Public Enemy (band), Public Enemy, White Lies (band), White Lies, Crystal Fighters, Tom McRae, Motörhead, Suede (band), Suede, Motorpsycho (band), Motorpsycho, Dum Dum Boys, In Flames and many, many more. Religion in Iceland has been predominantly Christianity since its adoption as the state religion by the Althing under the influence of Olaf Tryggvason, the king of Norway, in 999/1000 CE. Sveinbjörn Beinteinsson
Sveinbjörn Beinteinsson (4 July 1924 – 23 December 1993) was an Icelandic religious leader and singer of rímur who was instrumental in gaining the Icelandic government's recognition of pre-Christian Heathenry (new religious movement), Heathenry in the country. Biography Sveinbjörn lived his entire life in West Iceland Borgarfjörður. From 1944 on, he was a sheep farmer while also pursuing literary interests on the side. He published a book of rímur in 1945, a textbook on the verse forms of rímur in 1953, two volumes of his own verse in 1957 and 1976, and edited several anthologies. He was married to Svanfríður Hagvaag with whom he had two sons, born in 1965 and 1966. The Ásatrúarfélagið ("Fellowship of Æsir faith"), which he co-founded in 1972, and for which he acted as ''Allsherjargoði (Ásatrúarfélagið), allsherjargoði'', was officially recognised as a religious body in 1973. Vigrid is a Norwegian neopagan sect founded by Tore W. Tvedt in 1998 that combines racial theories with Norse mythology. The group is widely regarded as neo-Nazi, and is considered to have an "extremely racist and violent ideology" by the Norwegian Police Security Service (PST). The group is known for their ceremonies and rituals including "baptisms".
