Flåværet
Flåværet (also spelled ''Flåvær'') is small group of islets and skerries in Herøy Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The islands are located in the Herøyfjorden, north of the island Gurskøya and southwest of the town of Fosnavåg. It includes the islets ''Flåvær'', ''Husholmen'', ''Torvholmen'', and ''Vardholmen'' (the Norwegian term ''holme'' translates as islet, signifying that these are small). History In earlier times, there was extensive activity at Flåværet due to its central position in the Herøyfjorden. Flåværet was both a fishing station and a store where the fishing fleet could get supplies close to the fishing fields. It provided useful harbor and mooring facilities. In the days of the rich herring fisheries, the harbor was often crowded with fishing vessels, and as many as 1,500 people gathered there. From 1873 to 1976 there was a post office. Herøy is a municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is part of the Sunnmøre region. The administrative centre is the town of Fosnavåg on the island of Bergsøya. Gurskøya
Gurskøya is an island in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. Settlements The island is shared by Sande Municipality and Herøy Municipality. The villages of Haugsbygda, Gjerdsvika, Larsnes, Leikong and Moldtustranda are located on the island. The southern part of the island was historically part of the old Rovde Municipality. In 2015, there were 4,647 residents living on the island. The island is home to many fish-related industries such as fishing and fish processing. Fosnavåg
is a List of towns and cities in Norway, town in Herøy Municipality (Møre og Romsdal), Herøy Municipality in Møre og Romsdal counties of Norway, county, Norway. It is the administrative center of the municipality. The town is located on the island of Bergsøya, Herøy, Bergsøya, and it includes the Eggesbønes area on the south side of the island. Fosnavåg is connected to the nearby village of Kvalsund (Herøy), Kvalsund on the island of Nerlandsøya via the Nerlandsøy Bridge to the west. Fosnavåg is connected to the east by a small bridge to the island of Leinøya, which in turn is connected to the islands of Remøya and Runde via the Remøy Bridge and Runde Bridge. Stad (peninsula)
Stad or Stadlandet is a peninsula in Stad Municipality in the northwestern part of the Nordfjord district in Vestland county in Norway. The peninsula is considered the dividing point between the Norwegian Sea to the north and the North Sea to the south. The name is sometimes also written as ''Stadt'', ''Statt'', or ''Statlandet'' (not to be confused with the similar German word '' Stadt''), because the Norwegian pronunciation of the ''d'' in this case is as a ''t''. The name could be translated as "''the land of places''" or ''"the land of towns''".
