Fluff Fest
Fluff Fest was an independent hardcore punk festival held each July at the Czech town of Rokycany. A significant event for the DIY music scene of Czechia and the punk subculture of Europe, it was associated with movements such as veganism, anarchism, feminism, anti-fascism, and straight edge. It featured international lineups of bands from diverse punk rock genres including hardcore, crust punk, emo, and grindcore, as well as talks and zines. Catering was provided by local animal rights organization Svoboda zvířat. Fluff originated from Y2K HC Fest, an event organized in August 2000 in Plzeň by Michal Kočan and Tomáš Kadlec. They renamed it for the 2001 edition and moved it to the Rokycany airfield in 2006. Attendance exceeded 3,000 by 2012, when a free side stage called Psych Tent was established outside the paid festival entrance. Crust Punk
Crust punk (also known as stenchcore or simply crust) is a fusion genre of anarcho-punk and extreme metal that originated in the early to mid-1980s in England. Originally, the genre was primarily mid-tempo, making use of metal riffs in a stripped-down anarcho-punk context, however many later bands pushed the genre to be more grandiose, faster or more melodic. Often songs are political, discussing environmentalism, anarchism, anti-capitalism, feminism and animal rights. The genre originated in the early to mid-1980s with Amebix and Antisect, bands active in the anarcho-punk scene who began to incorporate the influence of heavy metal bands such as Hellhammer, Motörhead and Trouble. The influence of these bands led to the genre's first wave with Hellbastard, Deviated Instinct and Concrete Sox. Victims (band)
Victims were a Swedish hardcore punk band, originally hailing from Nyköping, at the end of their career they were based in Stockholm. The final line-up consisted of lead vocalist and bass player Johan Eriksson, drummer Andy Henriksson, guitar player, vocalist Jon Lindqvist and guitar player Gareth Smith. Since their 1997 inception, the band released seven LPs and two EPs, through labels like Havoc Records, La Familia, Deathwish, Tankcrimes, Relapse and more. They also have appeared on splits with From Ashes Rise, Kylesa, and Acursed. They toured internationally, heavily focused on Europe and the US, including tours with Coliseum, Kylesa, Trash Talk, Rotten Sound, Trap Them, Municipal Waste, Black Breath, and many others. Rise And Fall (band)
Rise and Fall was a Belgian hardcore punk band from Ghent, formed 2002 by members of The Deal and Kingpin. They were among a few European bands currently signed to American hardcore label Deathwish Inc. Rise and Fall have been influenced by bands such as Black Flag, Converge, Neurosis, Tragedy and Entombed. History Early career and ''Hellmouth'' (2002–2004) Rise and Fall was formed in 2002 in Ghent, Belgium, as a side project of members of The Deal and Kingpin, eventually becoming the most important band for all four members as The Deal and Kingpin was disbanded. Endstand was a hardcore punk band from Finland Finland, officially the Republic of Finland, is a Nordic country in Northern Europe. Good Clean Fun (band)
Good Clean Fun is a hardcore punk band from Washington, D.C. who took their band name from the Descendents song of the same name. The band gained a particular internet following after they released "The MySpace Song", a spoof ballad about a girl who leaves her boyfriend for a person she met on Myspace. History Formed in 1997, the band used self-irony when spreading their message of veganism, straight edge, feminism and optimism. Their main influence is New York straight edge group Gorilla Biscuits. Other influences include 7 Seconds, Minor Threat, and Youth of Today. The band recorded three records before pretending to part ways in 2002, saying "their mission had been accomplished and they had reached their goals." Heaven Shall Burn is a German extreme metal band from Saalfeld, formed in 1995. The band consists of vocalist Marcus Bischoff, guitarists Maik Weichert and Alexander Dietz, bassist Eric Bischoff and drummer Christian Bass. Vitamin X (abbreviated VX) is a Dutch hardcore punk band from Amsterdam formed in 1997. Their sound is characterized by hardcore punk mixed with thrash metal, 1970s rock riffs and guitar solos. The members are straight edge but this does not reflect their lyrics or music. Their current line-up consists of four members: Marko Korac (vocals), Alex Koutsman (bass guitar), Danny Schneiker (drums), and Marc Emmerik (songwriter, guitar). Experimental Rock
Experimental rock, also called avant-rock, is a subgenre of rock music that pushes the boundaries of common composition and performance technique or which experiments with the basic elements of the genre.
