Florida State Fair
The Florida State Fair is held annually at the Florida State Fairgrounds in East Lake-Orient Park, Florida. The official state fair of Florida, it includes indoor and outdoor exhibits, rides and shows. It is a chance for the state to showcase its agricultural industry. The Fair also offers competitions and food oddities such as chocolate covered bacon & Buffalo chicken chimichanga. The annual event is usually held in February and typically lasts for 11 days. East Lake-Orient Park is an unincorporated census-designated place in Hillsborough County, Florida, United States, in the Tampa Bay area. The population was 22,753 at the 2010 census, up from 5,703 at the 2000 census following an expansion of its borders. A state fair is an annual competitive and recreational gathering of a U.S. state's population, usually held in late summer or early fall. Expo Hall
Expo Hall is an indoor arena located at the Florida State Fairgrounds in East Lake-Orient Park, Florida. It is used primarily as an exhibition hall during the Florida State Fair, but has also hosted concerts and sporting events. The South Florida Bulls men's basketball team used Expo Hall as their main home arena for the 1979–80 season before the on-campus USF Sun Dome opened. The Tampa Bay Rowdies of the defunct North American Soccer League used Expo Hall for 8 of their 16 home games during the 1983–84 indoor season. At that time the arena's capacity was 9,200. This would also prove to be the league's final indoor campaign before suspending operations following the 1984 outdoor season. Cracker Country
Cracker Country is a living history museum of rural Florida, and Florida Cracker culture which was established in 1978 by Mildred and Doyle Carlton Jr. Cracker Country features thirteen original buildings dating from 1870 to 1912 and is set in 1898. Bob Thomas Equestrian Center
The Bob Thomas Equestrian Center is an equestrian center located on the Florida State Fairgrounds in East Lake-Orient Park, Florida. The center "includes exercise grounds, warm-up rings, two show rings, and a grand prix ring." In addition, the center has a "9,000 square foot indoor pavilion" that "can accommodate exhibitor banquet and festival seating overlooking the show rings, all in a climate-controlled environment."
