Titãs () are a Brazilian rock band from São Paulo. Though they basically play pop/alternative rock, their music has touched a number of other styles throughout their 30-year career, such as new wave, punk rock, grunge, MPB and electronic music. They are one of the most successful rock bands in Brazil, having sold more than 6.3 million albums as of 2005 and having been covered by several well-known Brazilian artists and a couple of international singers. They were awarded a Latin Grammy in 2009 and have won the Imprensa Trophy for Best Band a record four times. Branco Mello (; born Claudio Corrêa de Mello Júnior on March 16, 1962) is a Brazilian musician and actor, best known as the vocalist and bassist of Brazilian rock band Titãs. He has also played small but significant roles for the movies. Childhood Music entered Mello's life through the cinema. Every week, his father would take him to watch musicals at Metro. The movies' soundtracks joined other influences, like Bossa Nova, or the shows promoted by his mother, Lu Brandão, a cultural producer. At his adolescence, already nicknamed ("White") by his friends, he listened to almost everything. Frank Sinatra, Glenn Miller, Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, The Doors, Stray Cats, The Clash, João Gilberto, Raul Seixas, Tim Maia, Cartola, Zé Ketti are some of his favorite artists. The MTV Video Music Brazil awards (originally Video Music Awards Brazil), more commonly known as VMB, were MTV Brasil's annual award ceremony, established in 1995. MTV viewers picked the winners for most categories since 2001. Unlike in the MTV Video Music Awards, the most important category at the MTV Video Music Brazil was the Viewer's Choice, not the Video of the Year; both of these categories merged in 2005. In 2007, the awards have faced a major rebranding, with several categories extinguished (most notably the specific genre divisions) and even the trophies' design changed. ''Acústico MTV'' is a musical television program originally aired by MTV Brasil, inspired by the series ''MTV Unplugged'', an American program created in 1989 where bands and artists play their music in an acoustic version, that is, with acoustic and non-electric instruments. Initially, ''Acústico MTV'' was born as a television program and, as a result, became a music label. For the Brazilian music industry, the series took the music market to its peak. With the end of MTV Brasil's management by Grupo Abril in September 2013, the station stopped producing the program. Therefore, the last acoustic one was with Arnaldo Antunes. However, in November 2018, Viacom (current owner of the rights to MTV Brasil) announced that it was returning with the project, as it is part of a strategy to reposition MTV in Brazil. ''Õ Blésq Blom'' is the fifth studio album by Brazilian rock band Titãs. Background During the previous album's ('' Go Back'') tour, in Recife's leg, Titãs met at the Boa Viagem Beach a couple of repentismo musicians, Mauro and Quitéria. After listening to them and appreciating their performance, they decided to record them right there, using a recorder they often carried in their trips. The recorded song was used as the opening and ending tracks of the album and of its subsequent tour. Mauro was a former stevedore at Recife Port and, being constantly exposed to foreigners, ended up learning several words in different languages. With the help of his wife, who started to guide him after he went blind in 1982, he would walk around the beach singing songs written in several languages at once - even though he wouldn't know the words' actual meanings - for some change.
