Flores
Flores is one of the Lesser Sunda Islands, a group of islands in the eastern half of Indonesia. Including the Komodo Islands off its west coast (but excluding the Solor Archipelago to the east of Flores), the land area is 15,530.58 km2, and the population was 1,878,875 in the 2020 Census (including various offshore islands); the official estimate as at mid 2021 was 1,897,550. The largest towns are Maumere and Ende. The name ''Flores'' is the Portuguese and Spanish word for "Flowers". Flores Island ( pt, Ilha das Flores; ) is an island of the Western Group () of the Azores. It has an area of 143 km2, a population of 3428 inhabitants, and, together with Corvo Island of the western archipelago, lies within the North American Plate. The simple-station Flores is part of the TransMilenio mass-transit system of Bogotá, Colombia, opened in the year 2000. Location The station is located in northern Bogotá, specifically Avenida Caracas, between Calles 67 and 69. History In 2000, phase one of the TransMilenio system was opened between Portal de la 80 and Tercer Milenio, including this station. The station is named Flores due to its proximity to the flower market named Plaza las Flores, which is located on the east side of the station. Flores ( sr-Cyrl, Флорес) is a Serbian company producing alcoholic beverages, mainly rakija, with headquarters in Divostin, Kragujevac. It was established in 1985. Its most renowned product is Žuta osa ("Yellow Wasp"), high-quality slivovitz. History Flores was founded in 1985 by agricultural engineer Radiša Pljakić, based on his previous experience in company "Miloduh", producing macerated brandies, which he helped establish back in 1970 and made into one of the most renowned companies in the industry in former Yugoslavia. In 1979, Pljakić left the company and worked in several public agricultural institutions. In 1985, he decided to take an opportunity arising from new legal regulation, and started a private business solely on his own. Isla de Flores is a small Uruguayan island in the Rio de la Plata, south-east of Punta Carretas, Montevideo, Uruguay. The island and 2 nautical miles of water around it were made a national park on February 26, 2018. History Flores was named by Sebastián Gaboto, who discovered it on Easter Sunday 1527 (the Spanish expression ''Pascua Florida'' or ''Pascua de Flores'', i.e. "Flowery Easter" was the reason for the name "Flores"). Flores () is a department of Uruguay, positioned in the southwest of the central part of the country. Its capital is Trinidad. The Flores Sea covers of water in Indonesia. The sea is bounded on the north by the island of Celebes and on the south by Sunda Islands of Flores and Sumbawa.
