Florent Boffard
Florent Boffard (born in 1964) is a French classical pianist and pedagogue. Biography Boffard received his first musical training at the Conservatoire National de Région de Lyon. In 1976, he was a pupil of Yvonne Loriod's piano class at the Conservatoire de Paris, where he obtained a first prize. He completed his piano studies with Germaine Mounier. He also studied chamber music with Geneviève Joy. From 1988 to 1999, he was a member of the Ensemble Intercontemporain, with whom he created numerous works by contemporary composers such as Franco Donatoni, György Ligeti, Klaus Huber, Philippe Fénelon and Michael Jarrell. Among others, he played Boulez's '' Structures for two pianos'' (with Pierre-Laurent Aimard) and Luciano Berio's '' Sequenza IV''. With Isabelle Faust, he recorded Bartok's '. Yvonne Loriod
Yvonne Louise Georgette Loriod-Messiaen (; 20 January 1924 – 17 May 2010) was a French pianist, teacher, and composer, and the second wife of composer Olivier Messiaen. Her sister was the Ondes Martenot player Jeanne Loriod. Biography Loriod was born in Houilles, Yvelines to Gaston and Simone Loriod. Initially receiving piano lessons from her godmother, she later studied at the Paris Conservatoire and became one of Olivier Messiaen's most avid pupils. She also studied with Isidor Philipp, Lazare Lévy then Marcel Ciampi. She went on to become a nationally acclaimed recording artist and concert pianist and premiered most of Messiaen's works for the piano, starting in the 1940s. Messiaen said that he was able to indulge in "the greatest eccentricities" when writing for piano, knowing that they would be mastered by Loriod. Harmonia Mundi is a record label that specializes in classical music, jazz, and world music (on the World Village label). It was founded in France in 1958 and is now a subsidiary of PIAS Entertainment Group, which is itself owned by Universal Music Group as of October 2024. Its Latin name ''harmonia mundi'' translates as "harmony of the world". France Musique () is a French national public radio channel owned and operated by Radio France. Arnold Schönberg
Arnold Schoenberg or Schönberg (13 September 187413 July 1951) was an Austrian and American composer, music theorist, teacher and writer. David Robertson (conductor)
David Eric Robertson (born July 19, 1958) is an American conductor. He was chief conductor of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, and was formerly music director of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra from 2005 until 2018. He is Director of Orchestral Studies at Juilliard. Biography Early life Robertson was born and raised in Malibu, California, and grew up in a music-loving family. His father was a research scientist at Hughes Laboratory and his mother studied literature, but later had a career as a baker. In grade school, he played French horn and violin, and first conducted at age 12. He later studied horn, composition, and conducting as a college student at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
