Morey's Piers & Beachfront Waterparks is a seaside amusement park located on The Wildwoods' boardwalk in Wildwood and North Wildwood, New Jersey. Runaway Tram
Runaway Tram is a steel family roller coaster located on Morey's Piers' Surfside Pier in North Wildwood, New Jersey. The attraction replaced the aging Flitzer roller coaster and required the reconfiguration of several rides on the pier and represented a total investment of $4 million. Runaway Tram spoofs the Wildwood Sightseer Tramcar, a local yellow-and-blue trackless train service. History In September 2018, the Morey family announced that the iconic Flitzer on the Surfside Pier would be retired. Over the years, the aging coaster - which was manufactured in 1969 and opened at the park in 1983 - had undergone numerous refurbishments in order to extend its lifetime, but recent evaluations of the attraction determined that it was simply too old to continue operating safely. Wildwood is a city in Cape May County in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Vekoma Rides Manufacturing is an amusement ride manufacturer. Vekoma is a syllabic abbreviation of Veld Koning Machinefabriek (Veld Koning Machine Factory) which was established in 1926 by Hendrik op het Veld. History The company originally manufactured farm equipment and later made steel constructions for the coal mining industry in the 1950s. The Great White (Morey's Piers)
The Great White is a sit-down wooden/steel roller coaster made and built by Custom Coasters International. It has been operating since June 10, 1996 and has 2 trains from the Philadelphia Toboggan Company with 6 cars per train. Riders are arranged 2 across in 2 rows for a total of 24 riders per train. The ride starts by dropping into a tunnel beneath the boardwalk. After exiting the tunnel, the ride climbs up the 110-foot lift hill before dropping 100 feet at a 50-degree-angle, reaching a maximum speed of 50 mph (80 km/h). The ride then goes off the boardwalk and towards the beach, entering an elevated 225° swooping turn over the beach. Sea Serpent (Morey's Piers)
Sea Serpent is a steel roller coaster at Morey's Piers in Wildwood, New Jersey. Opened in 1984, it was built by Vekoma, and was the first boomerang-style coaster to be built in the US. The coaster's installation was part of a redevelopment of the Marine Pier into a new Mariner's Landing area in 1984. The Sea Serpent currently sits in the middle of Mariners Landing and serves as an icon for the pier along with The Giant Wheel. Riders board yellow, orange and green trains to go with the theme. Skycoaster is the name of a free-fall and flight-simulating amusement park attraction produced and managed by Skycoaster Company, LLC..
