Flint Town United
Flint Town United Football Club is a football club based in Flint, Flintshire, Wales who play in the . Nicknamed "the Silkmen", they play their home games at Cae-y-Castell also known as the 'Essity Stadium' following their sponsorship deal. "The Castle Field", Flint. History Founded in 1886 as Flint F.C.; playing at Strand Park which was located on the banks of the Dee Estuary. The club made an early impression by reaching the first Welsh Amateur Cup final in 1890–91, losing to Wrexham Victoria 4–1. Arthur Bartley, who played as goalkeeper for Flint, died from injuries sustained during a match in August 1891, thus becoming the first known fatality in modern Welsh football. He was the older brother of Welsh international, Thomas Bartley, who spent six years with Flint at the start of his career. Cae-y-Castell
Cae-y-Castell (currently known as the Essity Stadium for sponsorship reasons) is a football stadium in Flint, Flintshire, Flint, Flintshire, Wales. Located on the banks of the Dee Estuary close to Flint Castle, it is the home ground of Flint Town United F.C., Flint Town United and is also used by Flint Mountain F.C., Flint Mountain and Flint Rugby Club. History The stadium was opened in 1993 after Flint moved from their previous Holywell Road ground. In 2006–07, Connah's Quay Nomads F.C., Connah's Quay Nomads were tenants at the ground. In 2019, the stadium was renamed The Essity Stadium as part of a deal with the club's main sponsors. In 2022, the club announced that an artificial pitch would be installed at the stadium.
