Flint Subdivision
The Flint Subdivision is a railway line in the state of Michigan. It is owned by the Canadian National Railway and runs from a junction with the Michigan Line and CN's South Bend Subdivision in Battle Creek, Michigan, to Port Huron, Michigan. At Port Huron, on the shores on Lake Huron, it connects with the Strathroy Subdivision which runs through the St. Clair Tunnel into Ontario. Historically, the line was part of the Grand Trunk Western Railroad mainline between Chicago and Toronto. Today the line mostly handles freight. Battle Creek, Michigan
Battle Creek is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan, in northwest Calhoun County, at the confluence of the Kalamazoo and Battle Creek rivers. It is the principal city of the Battle Creek, Michigan Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), which encompasses all of Calhoun County. As of the 2020 census, the city had a total population of 52,731. Port Huron, Michigan
Port Huron is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan and the county seat of St. Clair County. The population was 30,184 at the 2010 census. The city is adjacent to Port Huron Township but is administered separately. Located along the St. Clair River, it is connected to Point Edward, Ontario in Canada via the Blue Water Bridge. The city lies at the southern end of Lake Huron and is the easternmost point on land in Michigan. Blue Water (train)
The ''Blue Water'' (previously the ''Blue Water Limited'') is a higher-speed passenger train service operated by Amtrak as part of its '' Michigan Services''. The route runs from Chicago, Illinois, to Port Huron in Michigan's Blue Water Area, for which the train is named. Major stops are in Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, East Lansing, and Flint. Amtrak began running the ''Blue Water'' in 1974 over the Grand Trunk Western Railroad. In 1982 the train was extended from Port Huron to Toronto, Canada, and renamed the '' International Limited''. Michigan Line
The Michigan Line, sometimes known as the Chicago–Detroit Line, is a higher-speed rail corridor that runs between Porter, Indiana and Dearborn, Michigan. It carries Amtrak's '' Blue Water'' and ''Wolverine'' services, as well as the occasional freight train operated by Norfolk Southern. Lake Huron ( ) is one of the five Great Lakes of North America.
