Flight Of The Conchords
Flight of the Conchords are a New Zealand musical comedy duo formed in Wellington in 1998. The band consists of multi-instrumentalists Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement. Beginning as a popular live comedy act in the early 2000s, the duo's comedy and music became the basis of the self-titled BBC radio series (2005) and, subsequently, the HBO series '' Flight of the Conchords'' (2007–2009). Most recently, they released the HBO comedy special '' Live in London'' in 2018. The special was concurrently released by Sub Pop as their fifth album. The duo's live performances are a combination of skits, audience-interactions and songs while they continue to tour periodically. Mugged (Flight Of The Conchords)
"Mugged" is the third episode of the HBO comedy series ''Flight of the Conchords''. It first aired in the United States on Sunday, July 1, 2007. Plot synopsis Bret and Jemaine are mugged and chased by two thugs. During the pursuit, Jemaine's clothes get caught on a fence. Rather than helping Jemaine, Bret leaves him to fend for himself. Consequently, Jemaine injures his arm and spends two days in jail with John, one of the muggers. While in jail, Jemaine bonds with John, who is also dealing with the pain of having been abandoned, as his partner in crime ran from the scene when the authorities arrived. In his efforts to reconcile with an angry Jemaine, Bret decides to get Jemaine's camera-phone (which is a phone glued to a camera, rather than a mobile phone with camera abilities) back from the muggers. ''Beautiful Machine'' is the seventh studio album by Shihad and was released on 21 April 2008 in New Zealand and 17 May 2008 in Australia. The album is much softer than previous Shihad releases, including many electronica elements and '80s backing rhythms - to the point where lead singer Jon Toogood has called some tracks "dance songs". Shihad
Shihad were a Rock music, rock band formed in Wellington, New Zealand, in 1988. The band consisted of founders Tom Larkin (musician), Tom Larkin (drums, backing vocals, samplers), Phil Knight (lead guitar, synthesiser, backing vocals) and Jon Toogood (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), who were joined by Karl Kippenberger (bass guitar, backing vocals) in 1991. Bret Peter Tarrant McKenzie (born 29 June 1976) is a New Zealand musician, comedian, music supervisor, and actor. He is best known as one half of musical comedy duo Flight of the Conchords along with Jemaine Clement. In the 2000s, the duo's comedy and music became the basis of a Flight of the Conchords (radio series), BBC radio series and then an oft-lauded Flight of the Conchords (TV series), American television series, which aired for two seasons on HBO.
