Flanger (music)
The Flanger is a German music project, founded in 1997 by Uwe Schmidt ( Atom Heart) and Bernd Friedmann (a.k.a. Burnt Friedman), who have both been active in the music business since the early 1990s. The two musicians met up to program their first album ''Templates'' at ''Mira Musica'', Santiago de Chile in 1997. Their musical goal was to generate their own vision of non-repetitive, organic and extremely complex music that is far removed from the well-trodden paths of techno and other established styles of so-called contemporary music. ''Templates'' was released the following year (1999) on Ntone, together with separate 12-inch pressings of several tracks. Clearly electronic, it moved beyond dance or electronic formulas, tapping into the spirit of exploration that characterised jazz during the '60s. Nu Jazz
Nu jazz (also known as jazztronica, or future jazz) is a genre of jazz and electronic music. Pivot (Australian Band)
PVT ( disemvoweling of ''pivot'') is an experimental band based between London and Sydney. Band members are Richard Pike, Laurence Pike and Dave Miller. Brothers Richard and Laurence grew up in Sydney, later meeting Dave Miller who originally comes from Perth, Australia. The band have released five albums. History PVT was formed as Pivot in Sydney in 1999 by brothers Richard Pike and Laurence Pike. The band spent the subsequent four years developing their sound and working on their debut album, with guitarist Richard Pike producing. They released their debut album, '' Make Me Love You'', in August 2005 on Sensory Records. It was nominated for a J Award by national youth broadcaster Triple J. Triosk
Triosk was an experimental jazz, electronica band, which formed in 2001 by Adrian Klumpes on piano, rhodes and sampler; Laurence Pike on drums, percussion and programming, and Ben "Donny" Waples on electric and acoustic bass. They disbanded in 2007. Though coming from a jazz foundation, their sound has strong electronica elements as well as influences from the textures of musique concrète, with their use of loops of hisses and crackles. They released three albums: ''1+3+1'' in November 2003 (a collaboration with German electronic artist, Jan Jelinek, on Berlin label ~scape); ''Moment Returns'' (11 October 2004) and ''The Headlight Serenade'' (12 June 2006), both on The Leaf Label.
