The village is located about southwest of the city of Ålesund, about east of the village of Syvde, and about southwest of the village of Rovdane. Syvde (or ''Myklebost'') is a village in Vanylven Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The village is located at the end of the Syvdsfjorden about east of the municipal center of Fiskå and south of the village of Rovdane. Vanylvsfjorden
Vanylvsfjorden is a fjord in western Norway, on the border of Vestland and Møre og Romsdal counties. The long fjord runs between the mainland of Vanylven Municipality and the Stad peninsula of Stad Municipality, with the islands of Sande Municipality lying in the mouth of the fjord. The inner part of the fjord branches into the Syltefjorden and Kjødepollen. The deepest part of the fjord reaches about below sea level, just northeast of the village of Borgundvåg. There are settlements all around the shoreline of the fjord and on some of the islands at the mouth of the fjord. Some of the larger, more notable villages on the shore of the fjord include Fiskåbygd, Sylte, Slagnes, Åheim (all in Vanylven Municipality) and Leikanger and Borgundvåg (in Stad Municipality). Vanylven Church
Vanylven Church () is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Vanylven Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located in the village of Slagnes, on the shore of the Vanylvsfjorden. It is the church for the Vanylven parish which is part of the Søre Sunnmøre prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Møre. The white, plastered brick church was built in a rectangular design in 1864 using plans drawn up by the architect Georg Andreas Bull. The church seats about 320 people. History In 1844, the parish of Vanylven considered expanding the Old Vanylven Church since it was too small for the population, but this was not carried out. A law passed in 1851 required the church be able to seat at least 30% of the people living in the parish, so it had to be enlarged or replaced. Stad or Stadlandet is a peninsula in Stad Municipality in the northwestern part of the Nordfjord district in Vestland county in Norway. The peninsula is considered the dividing point between the Norwegian Sea to the north and the North Sea to the south. The name is sometimes also written as ''Stadt'', ''Statt'', or ''Statlandet'' (not to be confused with the similar German word '' Stadt''), because the Norwegian pronunciation of the ''d'' in this case is as a ''t''. Rovdane is a village in Vanylven Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located along the Rovdefjorden, about north of the village of Syvde, northeast of the municipal center of Fiskå, and (by road, not counting the ferry's sailing distance) west of the village of Volda.
