Danielle Christine Fishel ( ; born May 5, 1981) is an American actress and director. She began her career in theater, appearing in community productions of ''The Wizard of Oz'' and ''Peter Pan''. She made her debut as an actress shortly after, making guest appearances in shows such as ''Full House'' and ''Harry and the Hendersons''. In 1993, Fishel was cast as Topanga Lawrence on the teen sitcom ''Boy Meets World'', which ran on ABC from 1993 to 2000, and reprised the role for its successor '' Girl Meets World'' on Disney Channel, which aired from 2014 to 2017. During ''Girl Meets World'', Fishel also began to transition to directing, and she has gone on to direct episodes for other series, including ''Raven's Home'', ''Coop & Cami Ask the World'', ''Sydney to the Max'', '' Just Roll with It'', '' The Villains of Valley View'', '' Pretty Freekin Scary'', and '' Lopez vs Lopez''. Elizabeth Fishel is a journalist and author. In 2013, Fishel published her fifth book, coauthored with Jeffrey Arnett, ''Getting To 30: A Parent's Guide to the 20-Something Years'' (Workman, originally titled, When Will My Grown-Up Kid Grow Up?) In 2000, Fishel published a book profiling 10 of her classmates from the class of 1968 at Brearley School titled ''Reunion: The Girls We Used to Be, the Women We Became''. Her book ''I Swore I'd Never Do That!'' was awarded "Best Parenting Book" by Parent's Choice Award in 1991. Earlier books include ''Sisters'' (1979, reissued in 1997) and ''The Men In Our Lives'' (1985). Fishel Jacobs (born March 21, 1956) is an American-Israeli rabbi, martial artist, ex-Israel prison service officer, author, and speaker. Early years and education Jacobs was born in 1956 in Brooklyn, raised in Vermont, and has lived in Israel since 1979. In 1974, Jacobs earned a black belt in karate from the International Tang Soo Do Association. He graduated from the University of Vermont. Jacobs holds a PhD degree (equivalency) from the Israel Department of Religion, and completed training as a Rabbinic attorney from the Harry Fischel Institute for Talmudic Research. In 2006, he was promoted to Eighth Degree Black Belt Master Instructor by Dr. Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim.
