Fiscalini Field is a stadium in San Bernardino, California, US. Over the years, the stadium was the spring training homes of the Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Browns (now the Baltimore Orioles) and was the home field for the San Bernardino Stars, the San Bernardino Spirit, and the San Bernardino Pioneers. Today, Fiscalini Field is used for NCAA Division II college baseball games hosted by California State University, San Bernardino. Sunset League
The Sunset League was a minor league baseball circuit that operated from 1947 through 1950. The Sunset League was a Class C level league, with franchises based in the United States and Mexico. The league expanded from six to eight teams from 1949 to 1950. There was a previous league called the "Sunset League" that briefly played in Texas in the 1902 season. For the 1951 season, the circuit merged with the Arizona–Texas League to form the Southwest International League. San Bernardino High School (SBHS) is an American public high school and city located at 1850 North E Street within San Bernardino, California and a member of the San Bernardino City Unified School District. SBHS was granted charter as a city in 1963, under the name Cardinal City after the school's mascot, the Cardinal. SBHS is the oldest high school in the City of San Bernardino. Citrus Belt League (CBL) is a high school sports league in the Inland Empire region within the Greater Los Angeles area of California's CIF Southern Section. The Citrus Belt League is one of the five founding leagues of the California Interscholastic Federation Southern Section (CIF-SS) when established in 1913. John Fiscalini
John Alvin Fiscalini (February 25, 1925 – December 17, 1982) was an American college and minor league baseball outfielder. Following a standout baseball career at San Bernardino High School, Fiscalini joined the United States Air Force upon his graduation in 1943. After the conclusion of World War II, Fiscalini attended the University of California at Berkeley, where he was a member of the Cal Golden Bears baseball team from 1946 to 1948. In 1947, Fiscalini led the Golden Bears in hitting, earning First-Team All-American honors and leading Cal to the inaugural 1947 College World Series, where they defeated the Yale Bulldogs in the championship game. In 1948, Fiscalini signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates, spending time with the New Orleans Pelicans, Waco Pirates, Davenport Pirates, Charleston Rebels, and Albany Senators before retiring after the 1950 season. Santa Fe Railroad
The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway , often referred to as the Santa Fe or AT&SF, was one of the largest Class 1 railroads in the United States between 1859 and 1996. The Santa Fe was a pioneer in intermodal freight transport; at various times, it operated an airline, the short-lived Santa Fe Skyway, and the Santa Fe Railroad tugboats. Its bus line extended passenger transportation to areas not accessible by rail, and ferryboats on the San Francisco Bay allowed travelers to complete their westward journeys to the Pacific Ocean. The Cal State San Bernardino Coyotes are the men's and women's intercollegiate athletic teams of California State University, San Bernardino. NCAA Division II (D-II) is the intermediate-level division of competition in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). It offers an alternative to both the larger and better-funded Division I and to the scholarship-free environment offered in Division III.
