First Rush
''First Rush'' is the debut album by American comedian Chris Rush. The album was released in 1973 on Atlantic Records. Originally on LP and 8 track, the album was re-released as a digital download in 2009 by Comedy Spotlight. "First Rush" is a reference to the state of euphoria one may have after the intake of an opiate. This is known commonly as a Rush. Shorter promotional flexi discs titled, "This Is Your First Rush" were placed in the July '73 issue of National Lampoon Magazine, where Rush was an original contributing writer and editor from 1970-1973. It was marketed as, "The Cosmic Comedy of Chris Rush" which was written on the back cover. Chris Rush
Chris Rush (born Christopher John Mistretta; February 11, 1946 – January 28, 2018) was an American comedian, writer, actor, radio personality and author. He is best known for his stand-up routines and albums, along with having been a writer and editor on the satirical publication ''National Lampoon'' magazine. Biography Early life Rush was born in Brooklyn, New York. Rush was of Italian descent and was raised in the Roman Catholic faith. He attended Brooklyn Technical High School and graduated from City College of New York in 1968 with a degree in Organic chemistry. Before becoming a comedian Rush was a molecular biologist, working at Brooklyn Jewish Hospital for two years. He embarked on a professional stand-up comedy career following the first time he ever performed on stage, which was an open mic night at The Gaslight Cafe, where he received a standing ovation after his performance. Flexi Disc
The flexi disc (also known as a phonosheet, Sonosheet or Soundsheet, a trademark) is a phonograph record made of a thin, flexible vinyl sheet with a molded-in spiral stylus groove, and is designed to be playable on a normal phonograph turntable. Flexible records were commercially introduced as the Eva-tone Soundsheet in 1962. They were very popular among children and teenagers and mass-produced by the state publisher in the Soviet government. History Before the advent of the compact disc, flexi discs were sometimes used as a means to include sound with printed material such as magazines and music instruction books. A flexi disc could be moulded with speech or music and bound into the text with a perforated seam, at very little cost and without any requirement for a hard binding. ''The Naked Ape: A Zoologist's Study of the Human Animal'' is a 1967 book by English Zoology, zoologist and ethology, ethologist Desmond Morris that looks at humans as a species and compares them to other animals. ''The Human Zoo (book), The Human Zoo'', a follow-up book by Morris that examined the behaviour of people in cities, was published in 1969. Summary ''The Naked Ape'', which was serialised in the ''Daily Mirror'' newspaper and has been translated into 23 languages, depicts human behaviour as largely Evolutionary psychology, evolved to meet the challenges of prehistoric life as a hunter . The Original Series
''Star Trek'' is an American science fiction television series created by Gene Roddenberry that follows the adventures of the starship and its crew.
