First Light (radio Program)
''First Light'' was a news program airing on numerous talk radio stations, Broadcast syndication, syndicated by Westwood One (current), Westwood One, a subsidiary of Cumulus Media. The one-hour live program aired weekdays at 5:00 a.m. Eastern Time and was hosted by Michael Toscano. The show featured reports from ABC News Radio, as well as guest interviews, a call-in segment, and the short-form feature ''Last Night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon''. A weekend version, ''The Week in Review'', for airing on Saturday mornings, was also available to network affiliate, affiliates. Dirk Van was the show's longtime host from 1989 to 2015, with Evan Haning taking the hosting chores upon Van's retirement. In August 2018, Haning announced he would be stepping away from full-time hosting and Michael Toscano would replace him as host of ''First Light''. NBC Radio Network
The National Broadcasting Company's NBC Radio Network (also known as the NBC Red Network from 1927 to 1942) was an American commercial radio network which was in continuous operation from 1926 through 1999. Along with the NBC Blue Network, it was one of the first two nationwide networks established in the United States. Its major competitors were the CBS Radio, Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS), founded in 1927, and the Mutual Broadcasting System, founded in 1934. In 1942, NBC was required to divest one of its national networks. As such, it sold NBC Blue, which was soon renamed the American Broadcasting Company (ABC). After this separation, the Red Network continued as the NBC Radio Network. For the first 61 years of its existence, this network was owned by the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) with New York City radio station WFAN (AM), WEAF (renamed WNBC in 1946, WRCA in 1954 and again as WNBC in 1960) as its flagship station. Network Affiliate
In the broadcasting industry (particularly in North America, and even more in the United States), a network affiliate or affiliated station is a local broadcaster, owned by a company other than the owner of the network, which carries some or all of the lineup of television programs or radio programs of a television or radio network. This distinguishes such a television or radio station from an owned-and-operated station (O&O), which is owned by the parent network. Notwithstanding this distinction, it is common in informal speech (even for networks or O&Os themselves) to refer to any station, O&O or otherwise, that carries a particular network's programming as an affiliate, or to refer to the status of carrying such programming in a given market as an "affiliation". WPHM
WPHM (1380 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Port Huron, Michigan. The station broadcasts a News/Talk/Sports radio format. It is owned by Radio First with studios on Huron Avenue in Downtown Port Huron. WPHM is powered at 5,000 watts. To protect other stations on 1380 AM from interference, it uses a directional antenna with a seven-tower array. The signal covers much of The Thumb area of Michigan. The transmitter is on Range Road in St. Clair, Michigan, near the St. Clair River. Programming includes a local morning talk show with syndicated news and sports programs the rest of the day. Local newscasts are branded as coming from the ''Blue Water News Network''. Most hours begin with an update from ABC News Radio. The station is also a partial affiliate of Fox Sports Radio.
