First Lady of Ethiopia () is a title for the wife of Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Prime Minister. Officially the concept of First Lady applied in Ethiopian politics since 1995. Although the first lady's role has never been codified or officially defined, she figures prominently in the political and social life of the nation. However, the role of First Lady is created by her and contributes her unique position to improve women and children's capacity but her contribution has not been known at the broader public realm. Hailemariam Desalegn Boshe (; born 19 July 1965) is an Ethiopian politician who served as Prime Minister of Ethiopia, prime minister of Ethiopia from 2012 to 2018. He also previously served as deputy prime minister and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Ethiopia), Minister of Foreign Affairs under Prime Minister Meles Zenawi from 2010 to 2012. Zinash Tayachew (; born 25 January 1978) is an Ethiopian politician, philanthropist and gospel singer. She is the wife of the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and the fourth First Lady of Ethiopia. Zinash is a devout Protestant Christian ministering at her church as a gospel singer. Life and career Zinash Tayachew was born on 13 January 1978, in the city of Gondar. The Transitional Government of Ethiopia (TGE) was an era established immediately after the Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) seized power from the Marxist-Leninist People's Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (PDRE) in 1991.
