First Gentleman Of Oklahoma
First Lady or First Gentleman of Oklahoma is the title held by the spouse of the sitting governor of Oklahoma. The first lady or first gentleman serves as the official host of the Oklahoma Governor's Mansion. As of 2019, there have been 26 first ladies and one first gentleman. The current (and 26th) first lady of Oklahoma is Sarah Hazen Stitt, wife of Governor Kevin Stitt. First Lady Hazen has been in that position since her husband assumed office in 2019. Role The position of the first spouse is not an elected one, carries no official duties, and receives no salary. However, the first spouse holds a highly visible position in state government. The first spouse is the host of the Oklahoma Governor's Mansion and organizes and attends official ceremonies and functions of state either along with, or in place of, the Governor. Sarah Hazen Stitt
Sarah Hazen Stitt is an American businesswoman who has served as the First Lady of Oklahoma since 2019. Early life and career Sarah Hazen grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was homeschooled until she was a teenager when she first attended public schools. Growing up, her mother suffered from mental health problems, but refused treatment due to social stigmas. Her mother attempted suicide and her siblings had drug addictions. Her father also developed mental health problems during this time. Sarah cites her childhood experience as motivation for her mental health advocacy. She founded Gateway Mortgage, alongside her husband, Kevin Stitt, and worked there for twenty years. Frank Frantz (May 7, 1872 – March 9, 1941) was an American Rough Riders, Rough Rider and politician who served as the seventh and final governor of Oklahoma Territory (1906–07). Frantz ran on the Republican Party (United States), Republican ticket to serve as the first Governor of Oklahoma, Governor of the State of Oklahoma, but lost the election to United States Democratic Party, Democrat Charles N. Isabelle Butler Robertson was an American woman who served as the second First lady of Oklahoma from 1919 to 1923 during the tenure of her husband, Governor James B. A. Robertson.
